Hi! I am a 43 year old Mom of 2 (22 and 20) and have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember! At one point I topped the scales at 215 pounds - and that was NOT when I was pregnant! In 2000 I joined Weight Watchers and successfully lost 50 pounds. Then, unfortunately we moved away to a small remote community with no WW in sight. I continued the program on my own and lost another 33 for a total of 83 pounds. However, keeping the program going on my own with no other members to talk with/listen to eventually became harder and harder and I slowly started putting the weight back on. I find if I don't exercise I don't lose weight- in fact it is very easy for me to gain it simply from lack of exercise. Well, in January, I decided to start the points system again and by June had lost 20 pounds. For the past 2 months I have been at a stand still weight wise. I have been diagnosed with degenerative disk disease in my neck which affects my neck, should and whole right arm - so at times even walking can be painful (swinging my arm and just moving). I need to keep going - 20 pounds more to come off, but would like that feel of a support system again...others who are fighting this great fight everyday! I'm sure with everyone's help here, I will be successful and I hope I can help others at the same time.

Calories for Resting?
I really don't understand the preset numbers on my Exercise calendar. Why do I earn calories for resting? And so many? It's like I should be able to lose weight simply by doing nothing but resting and sleeping. NOT! I suppose it's simple...if I do nothing else, then those are my activities for the day - but then, I don't feel I should earn anything for doing nothing. Anyone able to explain this to me so it makes more sense? Anyone else feel the same? Just doesn't seem like a true number.

Couple of questions
Yikes...I guess I wasn't clear in my post. Sorry jacquisplace...I meant that I made blueberry buckle and want to add it to my cookbook. But in the ingredients list provided, I cannot find anything to choose from except splenda packets. I do use the bagged splenda for backing since it measures cup for cup.

Thanks for clearing me up though on my question regarding a "stick" of margarine. Same as our squares!

Couple of questions
I was trying to add a recipe but got stuck on the first 2 ingredients! I needed to add 1/2 cup of margarine (I use a canola margarine) - I can't find "cups"...it's "sticks"...so, is half a stick 1/2 cup? We don't get sticks..it's either a 1 pound block, 1/2 cup squares or tubs. Second...I need to add 1/2 cup splenda...and all there is is packets. So anyone know how I can add those ingredients?

timeout
I'm so sorry...take all the time you need, of course, for you and your family...that's most important right now. See you when you are feeling better.

Not sure how to add fruit salad
At lunch today I had a homemade fruit salad- about 1 cup. It had a mixture of watermelon, honeydew, canteloup and pineapple. Nothing else. But I can't find a way to include it in my food journal. Can anyone help?
