Dear Diary,
Time to reflect on the day and look to tomorrrow. Let's start with the bad. I did not exercise today as planned. That is unless you count walking from one side of Wal-Mart to the other twice! I was going to go into the office early and walk but the bed felt to good. The good-- my blood sugars have gone down 5 points since Saturday when I started micromanaging my food intake.
Looking at tomorrow - my challenge is to get the exercise into my day! Or... maybe that should start next week since I am really concentrating on my eating plan. No whining about how busy I am and the commitments I have each day. I'll just prioritize and make sure I'm at the top of my list.
'till tomorrow night - focus, focus, focus

Dear Diary,
Busy day but all things considered it went well. I stayed on my eating plan and had my alloted amount of carbs. Blood sugars were under control. It is 9:30 and I am ready to crash. Got up at 4:30am to take Lynn to the hospital by 5:30. The surgery went well and she is resting comfortably tonight. I was able to attend my lunch meeting and work for a few hours this afternoon. Packed a ziplock bag of snacks and drank plenty of water. Today was one of the hottest days of the year and the air conditioning went out in our office, hot, hot, hot!!
Tomorrow will be easier. I am planning to go to work at 7am so that I can walk around the court square before it gets to hot. Taking my lunch and snacks. I do better when I plan ahead. I will need to run by the hospital to check on Lynn a couple of times tomorrow, but that is easy enough.
As they say "tomorrow's another day!"

Dear Diary,
Today as a very good day. Went to work for a few minutes to get ready for tomorrow, cared for mother, cooked hamburgers and hotdogs with our kids (Mark was home from college for the weekend), and floated in the pool with Bill for about an hour. Sunday is usually the hardest day of the week. Can't figrue out why except that I spend part of the day with Mother fixing her medications for the week, shopping for her groceries, and helping her pay her bills. I guess it's depressing because her alzheimers is getting worse.
I will not have a routine day tomorrow. I have to pick up Lynn at 5:30am from the skilled care facility and take her to the hospital for her colostomy reduction. Hopefully this surgery will be successful and I can get her placed back in the assisted living facility. She is much happier there. It's heartbreaking to watch a 53 year old member of our family not able to care for herself because of dementia. I plan to take my walking shoes to get in a walk while she is in surgery, also some yarn to crochet and snacks so that I will not go to the cafeteria and make bad choices.
I am determined to keep a check on my stress level and make time for the things that matter most and my health is at the top of the list. I am back logging my food and exercise. Also, going to try and journal every day so that I can asses where I've been and where I'm going. Hopefully this will keep me on track.

Back in the saddle again! I've been off the wagon and need some structure. I have changed my eating plan due to a diagnosis of Type II diabetes, and started new weight loss goals. Much has happend in the past 9 months, not all great stuff. Several life changing events that have demanded my time and attention. This is the first (actually second) day of the rest of my life! Glad to be back journaling and tracking daily.
