Dear Diary,
Early for me to be journaling but I think we're going on a hot date tonight. We have a winery in our area that has started "Wine Down Fridays" they have a band, wine tasting (or glasses of wine and beer) and light snacks. I have rationed my carbs so that hubby and I can go and I'll have one glass of blackberry wine while he has a couple of beers. Then we are going out to dinner unless a better option is avaiable. A few weeks ago we went and ended up at a friends house for the remainder of the night. So glad it's FRIDAY!!!

Dear Diary,
Great day. Had staff performance evaluation meetings from 9am to 5pm. Hardly had time to microwave my lean cusine! I'm all talked out and enjoying this passive activity.
Tomorrow our finance director (she also has diabetes)and I are on the road all day visiting school administrators across the county. I stopped at Subway to grab supper and got a 6" baked chicken breast sub for tomorrow. I will cut it in half, bring some sun chips and an apple for each of us and we will have lunch to go!

Dear Diary,
Is it Friday yet??? Long week---the positive is that I haven't had time to stress at work-to busy! Tomorrow will be a stressful day. Gotta do staff evaluations and not always a positive experience. I'm sure someone will not agree with their evaluation.
I shall take my snacks and lunch, not take it personally if someone gets upset, and handle conflict without getting stressed. Easier said than done but at least I'm thinking ahead and trying to prepare.

Dear Diary,
Let the week begin! Monday was a day of survival skill traning. Stress lurked around every corner but I had my magic shield on and was able to protect myself from my arch enemy (FOOD)! Work was crazy, I had to take my sister-in-law to the doctor and check on my mom. Both ladies were having a rough day, they both have dementia. Through it all my eating plan prevailed, I think. I may have had a few to many ritz crackers this evening, I'll know when I check my fasting blood glucose level in the morning. Tomorrow will be a better day, if not, my shield is ready!

Dear Diary,
A week draws to a close and another begins. Sunday is a day for reflection. Last week I did relatively well. I can look back and see that when I stumble it is in response to stress and/or poor planning. When I was most successful the explaination was planning ahead and mind over matter. Next week I shall plan ahead and work on the stress issues.
My mantra for the entire week will be:
"For one who has controlled the mind, it is the best of friends, but for one who has failed to do so, it remains the greatest enemy." - Bhagavad Gita (thanks Information)
