I'm a 49yo female just trying to be a little better every day. I want my next birthday to be my healthiest(used to be 60 lbs heavier and more miserable). I want to smash my landmark birthday actually. I want earlier birthdays to be jealous because I was fat all my life! I want to kick (you know)!!!!!! I've been through more in the last 3-5 years than I ever dreamed I could handle. When I decided to fight for myself, my life..... I changed me and my world. I found out how strong we as humans really are when we need to be. It's in us all. So let's kick BUTT!! YEE HA !

I like watching football ,occasionally drinking beer(gluten free-I'm allergic),chocolate-of course, being on/in/or near the water, biking, bowling, and seeing people doing well/getting ahead.
I dislike people who don't take responsibility for themselves or people who take advantage of others who can't protect themselves, and liver and eggplant.

1400 calories a day
I too am near your age. I am 49. I too take in 1350 cal a day. I also lost about 7lbs in the first week and a half then stopped for about 2 and a half weeks or so. The third week I saw the weight loss returning. I lose about a 1.5 lbs a week. I am very close to my goal weight though. DON'T give up. This is just a blip in the big screen of great success. I had to focus on other goals such as health and feeling good and doing what I knew was right for my body. It kept me going.

better to eat b4 workout or after
I bike for 1hour or about 13-14 miles before breakfast. I don't get hungry or fatigued ( I worked up to that). Then I eat something small. Then I finish a conditioning/wts portion ,if it is scheduled, then eat again.

From someone whose had about a dozen necessary surgeries, and is promised more, acceptance of ones self with or without the surgery is the key. Then you can decide any risks you want to assume.

words to hate when it comes losing weight!!
I hate the food police. "Is that on your diet?" Sure is! Now back off! I'm accountable for everything I put in my face just like everyone else. I'm just watching my weight go down.

I turn 50 years old. I'm holding my breath. It ain't lookin' good in the skin department. I wonder if a burn center needs donations? I'm game.
