Well I'm a little discouraged by the increase on the scale this morning. I've been following this low-carb diet very closely. The only thing I can think of is I did have more grams of fat than normal. Would that be what caused it?

It might. Lot's of things can cause our water weight to shift all day long. Too much sodium, exercise, hormones, stress, carbs, etc. Google "why the scale lies" for insight.

Weight fluctuates a lot in the beginning, I can be up 2 lbs in a day and down 4 the next still and I'm months into this...if you're low carb, you actually want higher fat grams for an energy source....it should kind of be a balance...like higher fat/low carb...or low fat/higher carb...and protein intake should vary based on activity level...

The human body is weird like that. Please don't get discouraged. This sort of fluctuation occurs in almost everybody. (if not everybody!) Some people even fluctuate up to 2 pounds for no reason.
I have never been a low-carb person, but I was totally prepared to be one so I know all the ins and outs. Apparently if you have extra sweetners, cheese, or salt, this can cause a weight fluctuation.
On the other hand, fat is perfectly OK in low-carb diets. Of course you don't want to overload on fat, just don't worry about it so much.
