THE TALE OF THE TAPE:

This morning marks the one year anniversary of the start of my decision to get healthy and lose weight. Therefore, it seems appropriate that at this one year mark that I take stock of the progress made to date:

Weight: Start 334.8 lb; Current 191.8; Lost to Date 143.0; To Go 0.00 lb
Waist: Start - 54"; Current 34"; Lost to Date - 20"; To Go - 2"
Shirt/Shorts: Start - 3X; Current Large/Medium; To Go - Zero.

The best thing about these numbers is that I've been in maintenance mode since the first of the year. So I reached this level in 7 months, and have held steady for the past 5 months. Unheard of in my past experience. I managed to go through the entire tax season of long desk hours, 7 days per week without losing ground.

Back on November 29th at my 6 month anniversary, my goals were to lose what I could during December, hold steady during tax season, & then work on improving my fitness afterwards. Well, I lost the weight. I kept it off so far. Now, I'm ready to set off on the next phase; getting more fit.

I can't remember feeling this good in decades. My Blood pressure is 125/75 & my resting heart rate is under 50. Last May, I could barely walk a mile. Now my daily walks include 50 lbs of weight and the dogs and I go from 7 to 10 miles.

All in all, this has been a very good start. However, I know that the real challenge will be to maintain this level of commitment. To improve my physical condition and maintain a healthy weight. Only time will tell, but I feel confident. For now, at least, I'm extraordinarily pleased with the results and hoping to continue along this path.

I wish all of my FS Buddies extraordinary success with whatever your goals may be.

The only important things in life are Family, Good Friends, Health & Happiness.

191.8 lb Lost so far: 138.2 lb.    Still to go: 1.9 lb.    Diet followed 100%.
