MrsTofu's Journal, 19 March 2014

Weight is more or less steady. I nibbled a little before checking my weight on the scale this morning. Yesterday I did pretty badly at dinner. (I can do pretty well with self control most of the day, but evenings are often my Achilles' heel; it's like my mind just gives up and says, "you want to be impulsive, fine, I'm done reining you in.") Thankfully I didn't eat to the point of feeling sick afterwards, but it felt like I wasn't far from that. :( I guess I'm rather fortunate that my net difference is only ~.5lb increase. (I took about half a dozen readings to try and ensure more reliable data and they were all between 143 and 144. I still need to take some skin fold and tape measurements to compare with previous records.) I must be burning more calories due to nursing than I realized because I eat a LOT and I don't really do anything special for exercise. Just with daily activities I'm a bit more active than I used to be, but it's kind of hard to believe that could be enough to keep me at maintenance or even a slow loss. Color me puzzled, but hopefully this just means that as I get things more under control I'll close the gap to my final goal more easily.
143.5 lb Lost so far: 28.5 lb.    Still to go: 13.5 lb.    Diet followed N/A.
gaining 0.3 lb a week

Being active is just as beneficial as working out, as far as burning calories. Longer periods of activity burns just as many calories as a short, intense workout. :)

With staying active every bit counts. Also depending on what you are eating you might not be consuming as many calories as you think.

If you are a nursing mom that takes lots of calories.
