ChristyLA's Journal, 22 February 2014

I've felt a little thinner lately - even my clothes fit looser, so it's not all in my mind ;) (sometimes I "feel" thinner when I've stayed on plan, like last week, but last week I gained 1+ lbs and my clothes weren't looser, so "feeling" thinner, without my clothes fitting looser, is not a good indication of my weight - if that makes sense).

I'm very happy with the results of this weekly weigh-in. I did not expect to lose this much weight. In fact, I didn't expect to lose any weight because I don't like to get my hopes up and feel let down by staying the same or gaining, since I've been maintaining my weight since November, with slight fluctuations.

But this loss brings me 0.6 lbs less than the lowest weight I've been. I was wondering why I weighed almost 4 lbs less at the doctors on Wednesday compared to when I was there three weeks before; however, because I didn't wear my jacket the second time, I thought that was the reason. I'm not sure if my coat weighs 4 lbs though, even though it is a somewhat heavy leather coat?

Anyway, I kept my calories lower this week; I stayed under 2,000 a day, whereas last week I stayed under 2,100. I only worked out one day this week, when I usually workout five days a week, though I was fairly active this week, since I worked less (I work at the computer). However, the lack of workouts (I do mostly weightlifting) has me worried that I lost muscle, and that might be the cause for the weight loss. But my clothes fit better, so I at least don't think I gained fat.

I've been able to eat less because I usually have a huge appetite from my workouts. So I kind of wish I could just be active and not workout so that my appetite will be less and I can lose more weight. I don't like having a huge appetite. But I know working out is good for me, so I'm undecided.

So I guess I will just play it by ear and just do the best I can, given the daily circumstances, and let my weight take me where it's meant to be. Ultimately, I'm very happy to have lost weight and to be under my lowest - I haven't seen my lowest since December!

Congrats on the new low! :) Your doctors story is totally relatable - I'm the same way when they take my weight, always analyzing what my coat and boots weigh and asking if I can take them off for a more "accurate" weight-in (read: more appealing)... I'm sure they see that all the time! It sounds like whatever you're doing is working, so keep it up! Happy Saturday :)

Thanks! Now that I weigh 100 lbs less, the few pounds from shoes and a jacket at the doctor's office isn't as important to me, but I totally hear ya! We all like to weigh as little as possible :) You're probably right - the majority of people probably want to take off as much as possible before being weighed at the doctor's. I was just trying to figure out if my loss this week was part of the 4 lb loss at the doctor's, and it probably was! Yay!
