MrsDuval1022's Journal, 19 February 2014

Well, another lb down. Maybe I will reach my mini goal by March 14th. The only problem Im having, is it seems like the more I lose, the bigger I think I look and feel, I do not see how this is freaking logically possible. Ugh, I am doing this solely for me. I need to see myself at the size I want to be for my wedding. Maybe there is a part of my brain broken making me not really see the results or something I dont know. But I swear out of everything I have encountered during my weight loss journey, This is by far the worst :(
168.0 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 33.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 3.5 lb a week

take measurements if you don't trust your scale. And if you're working out, remember you might be changing some of that fat into muscle, so you won't see a marked difference right away, more of a tightening up/toning instead.

Congrats on losing. Just keep up what you are doing. Sometimes we just become more aware of our bodies than usual when we are working so hard to change. If you keep reducing food intake and increase activity you will see change. Be patient with yourself and your body. You are doing great work!

I often struggle with self image, you are not alone on that. Chin up, :-) and congrats on the loss!!

I also go for measurements! That is a good way to go, and a very eye opening experience. It will show you the truth :) and that will be good because you will realize that you are actually getting smaller. Keep going!

Sometimes I look in a full-length mirror and I don't recognize myself. I have to stop and look again. I haven't been this size in 25 years. I still have to stop myself from going to the 2X/3X and the 20/22 size departments when I shop. It takes time to train our brains to see what we really look like. It can work the other way too, when we are heavier and we DON'T see the extra pounds and what it is doing to our health.

Thank you everyone very much, I think I will try the measurements, Wish I had started that to begin with. It probably would have helped a lot more.

MEASUREMENTS!!! Everyone has told you and i can only echo their remarks. i started Dieting about 5 weeks ago and have only lost about 6lbs but my measurement change is incredible - 5.7" overall - 1.8" just off of my belly and 1.2" from my waist. You will be pleased...scales are evil sometimes
