My name is Char, and I'm a foodaholic. I passed the 210 pound mark in December of '12, decided enough was enough, and joined WW. In July of '13 I found FS...and found that the two sites/plans worked well with each other.In August of '13 I went from the WW points system to their simply filling technique, which meant I didn't have to log everything I ate, only those foods not considered power foods.

I did well the first few weeks,but then I cut my foot up rather badly, couldn't exercise (or walk for that matter) for weeks...and things got out of hand.

By December I found I has having a hard time getting back into the WW mode, and with the holidays...well, I ended up putting on 13 of those pounds I had worked so hard all year to lose. But I was down 25 pounds for the year, so instead of beating myself up, I came back over here to FS, where I get more info on what I'm eating and burning than I do at WW. Again, I'm using the WW plan, but following the FS site for now. And hoping to drop another 25 or more pounds again this year!

As for me, I'm a 62 YO happily married woman, living in west central FL with my hubby and my two fur kids, Dink the yellow lab and my newest love, Val the American Staffordshire Terrier (yes, she's a pit bull :D ). I love walking and haven't missed hiking or walking 3-5 miles a day in over 2 years now. I'd walk farther, but either Dink or the hubby (who walks with us on weekends) gets too tired on me. lol I also enjoy crafts and computer gaming, with online MMO war strategy games or single player RPGs taking up a lot of my evening time.

I look forward to a great year with FS, and to getting to know a lot of you and making friends on this journey to a better life. Please don't hesitate to friend me if you'd like another buddy. :)

ya, it wasn't that easy for me, mummydee, when I tried to add the ingredients it made it very difficult. lol BUT again, thanks for that CC site...I'm loving it there! It works great with this site and WW...dang, I'm gonna turn into an internet diet fanatic! rofl

oh, thanks so much for all the input guys, this is great! I need the info for my own knowledge, and finding something within the same general calorie profile on FS would work great for me! Again, thanks so much for the help!

Recipes
Does anyone know a place I can go to enter in the ingredients for my own recipes and get a nutritional breakdown on them? At the Weight Watchers site they'll break it down into points for me, but not actual nutritional data. And I tried to enter my recipe in here...forget it!Sad Instead of allowing me to add 12 oz of dried black eye peas, I had to enter it by "serving"...which wouldn't tell someone else a thing about how to make this delish soup! Confused And trying to break down all the ingredients by "serving size" instead of simply "One can of petite diced tomatoes" or "15.5oz of petite etc etc" is simply too much work! lol So where can I go to figure out what my homemade meals are going to cost me calorie wise, and find out how well I'll be doing fiber/protein/carb wise? Inquiring minds want to know! Wink
