Bummer, guess stress isnt my friend! Well, soon to be working full time as a teaching substitute. Most often I will be in Kindergarten so no time for leisurely snacking....constantly....all day long. Guess today is the day to start or restart logging my food and exercise. Well, going for a good outlook so as far as that goes, my health is good and today, for that I will be thankful.
170.5 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 25.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 3.0 lb a week

I'm a stress eater, too. I solved this issue by making a phone call during stressful times to vent to a friend instead of eating. See if that helps. Also, journaling here can be so tress-relieving!

You think substituting will relieve stress? I think I ate more during the school year than during the summer. Isn't it supposed to be good to eat small meals (snacking) throughout the day instead of big meals?

Stress is no one's friend. Even when it doesn't result in stress eating it will still affect hormones and cause weight gain. I refuse to even step on the scale the past couple of days because I don't want to see what it's doing to me - I will climb back on when the emotions settle.
