I joined this site over 9 years ago because I weighed 280 pounds and I was an insulin resistant pre-diabetic. My life sort of depended on it. I started out with keto and had great success, but the exercise bored me and I was dieting only. I had limited success with a loss of about 90 pounds, then a "settling" gain of about 25 pounds for a net 55 pound loss in the first 2 years.

Then I took 5 years off because my body simply STOPPED losing weight without the ability to exercise and I was miserable and burned out.

Then in Nov 2019 I got an Oculus Quest VR and my life changed. With exercise that I LOVED came the impetus to give better eating habits a shot again. From Nov 2019 until Nov 2020 and throughout the Pandemic, I lost the other 70 pounds, down to 150 by doing Keto, intermitent fasting and VR for exercise. I was losing 8-10 pounds a month with almost no effort and having a ball. I'm having success this time because keto has come a long way since 2013 and there are so many more YouTubers to help with recipes and education. IF (intermittent fasting) works so well for me, I can't believe I used to eat 3-6 times a day. It seems obscene now. No wonder I never used to lose weight. I was eating all the time! The conventional wisdom used to be "don't do low carb and low calorie, but that' bullshit -- low calorie Keto ABSOLUTELY works! Especially if you're not hungry.

Now I eat once or twice a day and I feel great. I am rarely hungry, but when I am, I remind myself that is the feeling of my body burning fat and it feels great!

This time when I paused the dieting, I "settled" from 150 to 165. So I hit it again and I'm on route back to 150, possibly 145 so that I can "settle" at 155. I call "settling" what happens when you go from strict Keto to a modified moderate carb diet with more fruits and popcorn at the movies.

My total weight loss from 2013 is 280-155= 125 pounds. About a whole 'nother person. And I don't miss her one bit. She can kiss my ass.

barcode scanner giving me the wrong items
I think this has to do with the database and it stinks because there is no getting around it. THis has happened to me twice. I put in some pork rinds and I got cheese!

Input my meals to the wrong day - easiest/quickest way to copy them to correct day?
This happened to me by mistake the other day - there is a way to copy the entire eating day somehow to another day, but since I had accidentally switched two days, I just decided to leave them that way and not obsess on it too much. It's a big pain.

Bowel Movements
I have been told that I have pointy angles on my colon and the sharp corners prevent things from rounding the corners easily. Laying down, a bowel massage helps to move things along at times. Also, chew-able Vitamin C with Sorbitol works wonders for me when that's not enough, and when I can afford it, a colonic every few months, just to start from scratch. However, I'm having my thyroid tested, as I believe that may be adding to my physical issues as well.

Method to my Madness - NorthernMusician's musings.
Very interesting. However, it's alarming that once I hit my goal of 150 pounds, my BMR will be 1303 and my TDEE with 3X/week of workouts will be 1791. Not much of a "maintenance diet", is it? Yikes!

So You Want To Be A Loser
What a beautifully told and inspirational story. If it doesn't come from deep within, it won't stick. Thank you for sharing this wonderful history, my friend.
