I am Back!!! The family reunion was great fun---crazy cousins tromping thru cemeteries and old churches, wondering why the ancestors did what ever, and why were they buried here and not there, trying to determine who was with the North and who was with the South during the Civil War, some were in Missouri, some in Tennessee and some in Arkansas. The 'what if' stories were pretty entertaining. and the names were sooo old fashion! We drove my Dad's van and chauffeured him around. Getting in and out of the van nearly killed my back but I have the rest of this week to recoup. Diet wise I am okay, didn't gain but didn't lose, better than I thought I'd do. Funny thing, all the foods I have 'craved' but wouldn't have (hot buttered bisciuts, desserts, french fries) didn't tempt me. I would try a bite off my husband's plate and that bite didn't taste near as good as I remembered it. so all the cheatin' stopped with one bite. I did eat more nuts than I should have, they were the snack food of choice. Splurged with strawberries and cream for breakfast a couple of days, still within the Atkins limits, just didn't count the carbs for the whole day. While sitting there eating a 1/2 cup of sliced berries and Cool Whip, passing on the biscuits & gravy, its hard to think you are on a diet. :)

Anyway, its back to the regular routine for awhile: 20 carbs or less per day, gradually increase the physical activities & exercises, 64 oz of per day, at least 8 hours of sleep, and smile, smile, smile--these is my choices, I am happy with my choices, and these choices are good for ME!

I'm happy to hear you did great. No gain is great when going to family gatherings like that.

That sounds like a GREAT trip! I love all that family history stuff. And you are my hero at family meals!!! I agree about the strawberries and cream - I have to admit - a few weeks ago I was eating that almost every evening. I felt like such a cheater...But I WASN'T!!! Welcome back!

Ohhhhh welcome back again... you and your ways were missed around here. And what a memory making family gathering you had, it sounded full and wonderful. I have just mentioned somewhere about my addiction to strawberries and cream, I bought two pummets of Wexford strawberries only last night and double pouring cream... its gonna be a tasty weekend! great to see ya.. and well done on all of YOUR good choices!
