Wal Marts carry the veggie cheese . I was going to buy some today but I am not a cheese lover and don't usually eat it . I started to read the facts on it but some grumpy man wanted me to move on. My aunt always eats them.

question: why do so many detoxes and eating plans avoid grains and legumes? any thoughts?

My opinion, doesn't count for much. I think it s because they are complex carbs and take the slow digestion route. Detox plans want to flush your body out quickly, you might as well take the drugs for a colonoscopy and get thx same effect and faster. I think low carb plans are the ones that eliminate them due to the carb count. I've lost 60 pounds eating them and feel great.. not doing low carb.

Congrats TG! As long as it comes off who cares how long it takes, but.... I found when I was trying to lose fat, dairy would slow or stall my loss. I was already cutting out grains and sugar, so it was easy to see the results of partaking in dairy on the scale each morning. Very frustrating, but (for me, dairy was a key fat maker). I now eat beau coup cheese every day and maintain my weight. I used to eat a double serving of steel cut oats every day, but found that it raised my blood sugar so high that it took industrial doses of insulin to cover. Insulin in the blood = fat storage, inflammation, etc., so best to avoid foods that raise insulin levels if you want to lose weight. I also found I was hungery within 2 hours of eating the oats, so obviously not a good food for me to lose fat on. Everyone is different so, just experiment on yourself and see what cutting out a particular food does.
