KimReed's Journal, 07 April 2014

So, this is what I have decided; I have an obsessive personality. I can drive myself to drink (like I need another excuse) Hahahahahaha - over a few ounces on the scale. I do not want to live my life worrying about a glass of wine here, a cookie there. I'm not talking about falling off the weight loss wagon, just an occasional enjoyable refreshment when I choose. I am going to weigh myself twice a month and not stress the little blips that are bound to come by just living normally. I am still devoted to this campaign of mine, I am just not willing to not live along the way. **HUGS** to everybody - Let's all have a good week!!

Sounds like a solid plan... it needs to be a life style change, not a "weight loss wagon"... if you starve yourself of ALL your vices, you will FAIL the life style change you seek. Everything in moderation, and you will succeed. You TOO have a GREAT week! (((HUGS))) back at ya!

Kim I am starting to understand that part of weight loss as well. You just make good choices, eat smaller portions, and enjoy the things you like. I am behind you 100%. Keep up the great work, and enjoy that glass of wine (or two)

I am a HUGE fan of moderation. May I ask though if you are still going to take the Atkins approach? If you are, your body will never go I to ketoacidosis if you eat the carbs you are describing. I hope you lose the weight you want and think you are awesome for describing your journey!! Thank you!

I used to do the same thing. And, unfortunately, that number would dictate how good of a day I had. It took me some time to just let go of the madness. I weigh in now about twice a month. Seeing the daily fluctuations really did not help me nor was it a true measure of progress.

I envy you all SO much. I wonder if I hung around you all in real life if moderation would wear off on me or if we are truly just hardwired differently. Example: I'm hardwired to be moderate with alcohol. I can take it or leave it. My sister, on the other hard, cannot moderate it, but she can walk away from a cheesecake after one bite, whereas I cannot. Then again, she's a terrible drunk. I think we all have our drug of choice. I applaud you all!!

Yep. So true. What good is weight-loss if every day is a prison. Find a way to make them both work together! :D You're doing GREAT, KIM! :D
