Went to a Chinese Buffet with my family today. Not a good choice of food for me to stay in ketosis so my intake was limited. I did the best I could but almost every meat there had some kind of glaze or sauce. I had some chicken, ribs and fish; a lettuce salad with ranch dressing along with a diet coke and water. Wont go there again.

If you MUST go again (family wants to), do they have shrimp? The Asian buffets here have the large shrimp and are cooked in what appears to be "butter" only. I would think that eating shrimp and a green salad would not play havoc with ketosis.

Chinese restaurants are tough for low-carbers. You have my sympathy! About the only thing I can think of that would be relatively safe is egg foo yung, without the ubiquitous brown sauce on top. Although sometimes they put cornstarch in the eggs, so maybe not... um, how does your family feel about sushi? ;)
