jsfantome's Journal, 23 August 2013

Just walked in the door from being at the hospital since about 4:pm this afternoon. My husband had an attack of diverticulitis. He is staying, w/ IV antibiotics... and we will have to talk w/ a surgeon in the A.M. He has some kind of a perforation or leak - or something... not sure how this is going to turn out.

Please pray for his healing. And for NO surgery...if at all possible. We have a scheduled trip coming up in two weeks... please let this not be an issue.

I'll come back when I can.. til then...Much Love.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers that everything will go according to plan. Meaning that God knows what is best for you. Everything will be fine, and you will go on your trip, and don't forget to take care of yourself...xoxoxox

Paul, so sorry about your husband. Sending positive energy and prayers for good words from doctor. I know we are miles apart, dear friend but let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Please take care of you also during this stressful time. Love & Hugs to you and your family.

Paula, my husband had an attack a couple of years ago and had to have 7, yes 7, pints of blood. We thought he was going to lose his whole colon, but thankfully the bleeding stopped and he recovered. It is a scarey thing and I pray your husband recovers too. Don's Dr said if it ever happened again he would surely have to have the colon taken out. His colon is riddled with diverticuli. We have since found out that t runs in his family. Stay strong, the doctors are good and the IV's will take care of the inflamation.

Paula, I also was going to comment that my best friend (like a sister, I've known since 6yr old). That lives in Chicago also had Diverticulis a few years ago. She was in the hospital about a week, had an operation but she is fine now. It is a difficult thing and I realize hearing that others also have gone through it doesn't really help ease your concern a whole bunch, but know you have a lot of people that care about you & your family. Hugs, Joyce

Oh Paula - your new nickname is Harry Potter! If you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all! God bless and my prayers are with you!
