Ruhu's Journal, 05 July 2013

Had a great 4th with DH & my boys, SIL & her family, and MIL. Almost all cleaned up from it -- just laundry to catch up on so the packing can begin! Off to cardio tennis this morning, and then the packing & final trip prep begin so we can travel tomorrow. Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday! I didn't have a chance to check up on any of my buddies but hope you all had a great day however you celebrated the 4th or spent the day. I'll be away all next week, but will be journaling as much as possible & checking in when I can, but you all will always be in my thoughts -- hope you know how much I love & appreciate you all and how much your friendship & support mean to me!

My plan for while I'm away is to eat mindfully with intention & attention, and to stay my course gluten, lactose & sugar aware, while not over-obsessing about it. I have several of my favorite gluten & lactose free products to take with me to give me some options if needed. So, I'll relax and enjoy the time away with both my boys & DH's family whom I've grown to love so much, knowing that I have my journaling, praying, breathing & mediation to turn to if things get stressful or tense! And, I've promised myself to take some time for me each day so my inner introvert can rejuvenate as needed.

But before I begin my packing day, I'll start in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And through this one packing day and each one meal, bite, moment & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, journal & express my way, and I'll be grateful for the blessings in my life -- all of you:), a wonderful family including my in-laws who have taken me in as their own, and having both my boys for a full weeks vaca! xoxox

Enjoy your vacation!! Awesome plan you have for this week with your diet. Vacationing with having a diet is one of the greatest challenges for me. The goal for me is not to have more than those few treats!

So glad you enjoyed the day with your family and extended family, I know how much you love them all. And do enjoy your holiday. I hope you do get to check in now and again because I for one would miss you dreadfully. :)

Love the way you end your meal plan by stating "without obsessing about it". You are off to a good start!
