Janeness's Journal, 25 June 2013

wow, today, I thought I was doing so well... then dinner came around, watching my daughter eat, preparing my husband's meal...made me SO HUNGRY for FOOD - to CHEW ... SOMETHING, ANYTHING. So I went ballistic!! I found out that chicken thighs have only 135 calories...so I had 2!! Then I had my black bean hummus - YUM. Then I had a handful of almonds, then I topped it all off with a Madeleine COOKIE/CAKE THINGIE. O-M-G.

Tomorrow is my sister's graduation, we are going out for Dim Sum and then at night, going back out to eat. I dont know how I am going to handle tomorrow. Especially when my left knee started acting up again today. I have to refrain from eating for the rest of the evening. I can't even have my green juice. But I will juice tomorrow morning for breakfast and try my hardest not to eat so crazy tomorrow. Two restaurants in one day, also there will be cake. My downfall. I can't fail, I can't fail....I need to reach my goal weight this upcoming Friday. Friday is so close!!!!!!!!

Oh man, I went through the same thing this evening, cooking dinner. I finished eating before my girlfriend did, and I had to actually leave the table or else I would have started sneaking things off her plate!! LOL

Exactly!! I feel like I have willpower, only if I didn't have to keep facing food for such a prolonged period of time during dinner... dinner time is definitely my weakness - but that is a good idea, to leave the table.. I have to try to figure out how to pack his lunch before finishing dinner or else, if I'm done with dinner then I pack his lunch, I will sneak eat food :'( I have no willpower when it comes to food.. and he never gains weight.. waaah !! LOL

It's primarily me who prepares the food at our house, and I have to try reeeally hard not to nibble as I'm making meals! I also try very hard not to make more than we can eat in one meal. Never having leftovers means cooking more often BUT to be honest, there wouldn't be any leftovers anyway, because it would all get eaten. I've also stopped serving meals "family-style" and now I portion out individual plates. I switched out white rice for genmai (slowly; I started mixing the brown rice in with white in the rice bin, increasing the ratio bit-by-bit) and serve it in smaller bowls. It's amazing what little things you can do to a BIG difference! :)

I actually prepare the food at my house too!! But in order to prevent from cooking meats everyday, I try to make more - :( it is definitely hard. Also I will start doing the individual platters, - I don't normally eat rice, but actually what I do for my husband is my ratio is half n half for white rice/brown rice, then before I cook it, I toss in some quinoa which I don't like by itself. Maybe that's why he is so skinny!! Seriously he loses weight when he doesn't even try!!!! and yes, I do eat while preparing food, must learn to stop!!! :) We can do this girl!! Let's keep up the changes.

Tough time here as well. Seem to be gaining weight! Perhaps hanging out more here will be motivating. Would love to drop 15 lbs by mid August.
