I went for a consulation with an acupuncture doctor today and ended up having it done. I'm not sure how I feel about it right now, lol. She said she wanted to diagnose, felt my pulse in both wrists, my ankles, and my stomach. Then said I have a very sluggish digestive system which is causing bloating in my abdomen and swelling in my joints and that my pulse tells her I am depressed or down. What? How did she get that? I do have digestive issues, I'm never regular and have been feeling down. She wants to treat the digestive issues because she thinks that's causing all the other (joint pain, mood, ext). The acupuncture didn't hurt, but wasn't comfortable either. I feel kind of emotional now, which I've felt after a deep tissue massage. She also gave me 2 different kinds of herbs to take and told me not to eat beef or fish, just chicken for a couple weeks. She wants me to come 4 times over the next week. It's $70 a time, it cost way more today then I thought it was going to be and I can't afford $70 a time! So I'm trying to decide if I want to have the acupuncture again. I will try the herbs for digestion (mostly because they were $70, why is everything $70? lol)

I guess the main thing I have taken away from this is that if you eat crap, your body is going to feel like crap and I need to let more things out or go or something so I'm not so stressed. I can't do everything and be everything, so I need to quit berating myself because I'm not perfect, no one is.

Double check with the prices - Consultation and first appointments are usually more expensive (sometimes double). It's amazing what Accupuncturists can do

Can you discuss other options with them. Tell them you'd like to try this method but the prices are too much to handle. Perhaps you can take things slower and spread it out so that it doesn't hurt your wallet! Good luck with the eating healthier. Need to stay away from the doritos!!!

I had the same digestive issues & the pain that came along with them. I found that taking a vitamin C supplement fixed that problem within a week. I take 250 mg in AM & another 250 in PM. I get the gummy vitamins because they're yummy & makes me think I'm actually having a candy lol

I couldn't afford that. I have a lot of digestive issues but have found with watching my fiber intake and making sure that was at the recommended level and just eating better in general I am more regular. Also, exercise helps keep you more regular too. Spending $70 on healthy foods might do you just as much good. If it works for you though the $70 might be worth it. Good luck!!
