Whew, what a busy week! Almost over though. I'm liking the internship so far, although I haven't DONE all that much; just getting to know my way around, a lot of reading, orientation type things. I've been opening the site with a park ranger that just supervises to make sure I remember everything. The site is pretty big, it's a lot of walking and opening/closing is a workout - seriously. There's walking and opening doors and shutters and going up and down a lot of stairs and I'm sweating by the end. So it looks like this job will be an asset to getting in shape!

I am having to re-adjust and get used to waking up early. With my other job I made my own schedule and because I haven't been in school this semester I didn't get up super early. I've been trying to wake up around 5ish to get a workout in before going to work, but it's tough! I did do a workout Monday morning, but haven't since, although I'm getting up about 5:30.

I've been eating well within my points and have had quite a bit leftover. I know I'm supposed to eat all my points, especially with such a low number (I aim b/t 18 & 20), and I've been hungry when it's "meal" time. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and usually snacks, but I'm never hungry enough to eat all those points - so I figure if my body is not telling me to eat then I probably shouldn't!

I have worked out I think Monday, Wednesday and am going to try tonight too. Tuesday my hip joints were hurting and my feet ached and were sore, so I decided not to push them.

Oh! I do get thrown into the mix at the park tomorrow. We are having "education program days" today and tomorrow where all the school groups come. There are 3 different stations they go to and learn something specific about the area/fort and then wander on their own afterwards. Well I'm leading on of the stations, luckily it's not one where I have much talking. It is a play the kids read about Bleeding Kansas. It's an actual court case that took place there and then the jury decides on two issues if Mr. Stone is guilty or not. I have to give a brief intro and conclusion - which reminds me I need to make up some notes.

AND! Greg asked me tonight on the phone if I had the extreme fat smash book with me out here. He's going to go buy one and do it to try and lose about 15 lbs and then come see me at the end!!! I think he's getting bored and maybe before when I was there he may have been embarrassed to see him exercise there, especially when he's out of shape, but now that I'm not there and he's bored b/c he still hasn't found a job...so that'll be good, he really needs to lose weight/get back in shape. He sent me flowers yesterday, which was nice. Normally he will send them when I'm out of town or something, but it was a bit unexpected this time since he hasn't done it in awhile (haven't gone anywhere by myself lately).

What else...oh my mom asked the other day who I was going to have to be friends with while I'm here and if I was lonely? I said I wasn't and she goes "of course you are!" I said, "no, I've had so much to do and I have a lot of reading I'm too busy to be lonely". She didn't believe me. But I haven't missed the tv yet (don't have reception here) I'm just trying to get my schedule here set and really workout. I did 2 hours of Turbo Jam last night and my others should be here this week; I'm excited!!

Not too much happening. Any 1 person meal ideas? I don't really make "meals". Like last night my dinner were 2 ears of corn. But I know I'll get bored of brown rice and veggies. I didn't bring any real spices, so I may end up having to eat stuff like that! At least it should help with the weight loss. I'm looking forward to measuring again and taking more after pics, but that's still a month away.

Ok, well I guess this is long enough! Going to try and workout and then catch up on everyone's journals while I'm in bed.

You HAVE been a busy girl! Wow. I'm glad it sounds like you are enjoying your new job even if it is a bit hectic at the moment. It's probably a good thing that you don't have tv reception because it leaves you with more time to exercise, etc. I am sure you won't have a shortage of things to keep you busy. I haven't cooked for one in over 18 years (I mean on a regular basis) so I have lost my repetoire of meal ideas that I used to have. I do remember how hard it is to cook single servings of anything so it is a good idea to freeze some leftovers for future meals so you don't have to eat the same thing 3 or 4 days in a row. But of course, that is assuming you have freezer space. That's great that Greg is using his free time to pursue a healthy makeover for himself. You two will be like an episode of extreme makeover and have a "big reveal" when you see each other again! And how sweet that he sent flowers!

I'm exhausted from your schedule. I always cook for one. Such as, 1 hamburger, 1 turkey burger, 1 chicken cutlet-You might have 3 or 4 to a package that you can freeze and take out in the AM. Eat your protein with veggies + whatever. If meat is not your thing, I am at a loss and of no help to you......Have fun!

You are doing awesome!!! And it's great that your man is inspired to get in shape too! Evelyn is right - freezing single servings is key. I'm super-single and a pro at table-for-one dining, I'll keep you in mind, and send you my solo dinner inspirations as they come.

Thanks guys, I haven't made anything to freeze yet, but probably will this weekend - I have Saturday, Sunday and Monday off. I just forgot to pack them (spices) when I left SC, but I'm ok with out them for the time being. Back to work

I hate we have not talked the last 2 days... I have been having more sleep issues. greg is an awesome man and of course he would send you flowers.... I will not see him this weekend although he will be 8 miles from me tomorrow - but I am not doing the scout thing the CITO maybe no scouts...lol Miss you to death and you may not be lonely yet as we keep filling up your messages on the phone and such but you are sorely missed in my heasrt and mind as only a best friend would be. I have to slow up a bit or my 15 pound goal to come see you will be met in like 2 weeks...lol
