I'm worried about maintaining my weight during biking season. My hunger was ravenous after biking 40 miles yesterday - as it always is after any ride of more than an hour. I tried to eat mostly healthy foods. Had some organic honey stinger fruit chews and peanuts during the ride. Post ride I ate fresh pineapple and a few almonds. For supper I had boiled in the shell shrimp, salad with feta cheese and greek olives, and about 2 oz. of steak. Desert was 200 calories worth of lowfat icecream and then a cup of green tea and a fiber one bar in the evening.

Today is a recovery day for me. Tomorrow evening are time trials - my first time trial in 2 years! Wednesday I go on a clear liquid diet in preparation for a screening colonoscopy on Thursday.

I decided I'm dedicated to doing time trials this year when I said I couldn't do the colonscopy on Wednesday because it would mean I couldn't time trial on Tuesday night!

Good luck on the time trials!!!! Good luck on the colonoscopy too! I think you ate very well after your ride. I don't think you need to worry. By the way, thanks to Spark People and their diet plan I found my new favorite breakfast. I used one of the high-fiber tortillas you told me about, smeared it with cream cheese, topped with a sliced banana, rasberries, and walnuts;wrapped it all up and I nuked it for 40 seconds. It was heaven!!! Like a really fattening crepe or blintz. Yummy and decadent. I printed out their whole week of menus and am excited about trying some new things. Celery stuffed with peanut butter is my snack today. Going to do that now! Biked 30 miles, went to yoga, and then taught pilates. Hungry girl!
