stephenhall2's Journal, 04 April 2014

It's been over a year since I gave up on working out. I gained a mess of weight and felt horrible. It was making my back pain even worse. I told myself on April 1st "I am going to get back into shape. I am going to loose weight. I am going to get healthy" It got to the point I was eating out multiple times a week and killing myself as well as my budget. So here I am 484 days later. I am going to do it this time. I am going to weigh myself in a few minutes. This will be the start of a long journey but I WILL DO THIS.

There's a saying. You lose weight in the kitchen and firm up at the gym. Weight loss is mostly about your diet, so get that down first. Once you have a plan that fits in to your life, add exercise slowly. You might try getting a pedometer and aiming for 10,000 steps a day. Walk Away The Pounds dvds by Leslie Sansone are good for beginners. You can adjust the workout (walk in place if you need to) to fit your ability. Exercise should strengthen your body, not hurt it so do things slowly till you get stronger. Good luck!

I have no problem working out and dieting the weight off. I have done it before. Honestly I have just been in a lazy and depressive funk the last couple years. That time is over. The new me starts NOW!
