Splenda Sugar
I attempted Atkins for awhile...unfortunately didn't have the tenacity to live w/o carbs for more than 2 monthsSad.
Anyways, my sweet tooth & I did a lot of searching for sweeteners that weren't chemical creations, and had no carbs.
The healthiest alternative I found was erythritol ~ a product called Zsweet (I think I found it at Whole Foods?).
It's expensive, but all natural, can be used for baking, very sweet, 0 calories & 0 glycemic carbs (has 4g carbs, but they are unavailable for calories) **Not sure if this was 100% perfect for Atkins, but I'm sure some folks out there will advise.
I personally felt better using this vs. Splenda, Equal, Etc....for health reasons.
I tend towards caution when it comes to putting chemicals in my bodWink.
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck!

Trying to lose weight
Hi Mrs. B,
I found I was immediately more motivated than I had been in years as soon as I started entering my food & exercise in the diet calendar...it's a great tool for balancing both, and stomped out my 'munchie-denial-system'Wink.

Join a challenge that looks interesting and do-able for you...it helps with establishing 'baby step' goals, so you can have little victories along the way.

Also, the people here on FS are SOOOO supportive and helpful - it really made me feel like I had a good team on my side, which gave me a sense of responsibility to be honest and try hard.

I also have browsed around the site, and learned all kinds of health tips - of course not to be considered medical advice - but so much experience here, and success...and free!

Good Luck!Razz

Buddy Talk
Hi FS - I'm not sure if I got the buddy thing right...
I've accepted some good buddies, and all I do is my calendars & journal, and comment here & there on other people's. I assume that's what we do for each other.
Is that a good buddy, or am I missing something? Just let me know...
Thanks!

Weight Loss of 1.2 lbs in 1 Day?
In early September there were a few days where my weight jumped all over - I kinda freaked out...
I went up 2 lbs over night, then another 2 lbs the next day, and the following day down 5 lbs! Five! I weighed the same time every day, and was doing my diet.
I'm still not sure what it was about - I think water weight was mostly the cause.
It hasn't happened again, so maybe my body was adjusting to my new healthy habits in some strange way.
Don't worry, just keep doing your diet/exercise routine, and it will even out I'm sureSmile
