I am 26, married, living on the eastside of Seattle.

I've been overweight pretty much since I hit puberty. I have struggled with it for more than ten years. Then last May I hit rock bottom, I was at 240 pounds. I knew I needed to do something.

Since June of 2009 I've lost almost 60 pounds. I was doing great with just counting my calories and trying to eat a balanced diet. However, since November I have been having trouble staying motivated and have been struggling to get past that 60 pound mark. I am hoping this site may help me get back on the wagon.

Calorie Counting Doesn't Seem to be Working
I am a true believer in the idea that if you eat fewer calories than you burn, you WILL lose weight. I don't want to sound accusatory but the only things I would ask you are

1: are you truly measuring everything you eat? You can't eyeball it. A food scale and measuring cups should be preparation tools every time you eat.

2: are you logging absolutely everything? This includes condiments, and cooking oils, and the little handful of chips you grabbed on your way out the door.

One thing I do to make myself be true to my logging is log everything before I eat it. Then I know beforehand exactly how many calories are going in.
