I'm 43 years old and I currently weigh 132 pounds. I am 5'-3" tall. I joined Weight Watchers in 2004 and was down to 125-128 pounds. My joining weight was 146 pounds. I'm back up to 132 and our meeting was closed in my area so I'm trying this now...so far I like it.

17 day diet
by the way I agree with russelb97...his point of finding a diet you can live with is spot on!

17 day diet
My friend and her husband just started it. I personally think it's too restrictive, no carbs in the 1st phase, no alcohol, etc...

I do the old fashion calorie counting and it works like a charm....Best of luck to you in whatever you try.

Net calories
That also took me a while to figure out. To lose 1 pound of fat you need to burn off 3500 calories. Net calories (in green) are how many calories that you burn of during the day which factors in the calories that you eat minus the calories that you burn off...when by exercising or just simply breathing... You burn off calories constantly and then if you exercise you burn off even more...But you also take in calories from eating food...If it's a red number that means you ate too much...I cannot put this into words...

I weight 129.5, started two weeks ago @ 132 I eat 1500 calories a day and try to walk everyday (Or row) and I've lost 2 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks. I think losing weight slow is best...crash diets do not work.

I hope my net calorie explanation is clear...I've read it twice and it's still sounds confusing...Sorry.

HELP
I think 1-2 pounds a week is a healthy way to lose weight. Crash diets do not work..well they work but when you stop dieting the weight usually comes back...take it slow...you're doing great!!!Patience Grasshopper
