Time to update my bio. Over the past two years I used Fatsecret as a support system, logged what I ate, consumed less while increasing my excercise and lost weight in what I beleive is the right way. I developed new habits and lived better and maintained a nice weight loss for well over a year. I FELT, AND STILL FEEL BETTER ABOUT MYSELF MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY than I had in years.
I went through some hard things in life, lost focus and occasionally sought food for comfort. I gained some weight back, but not nearly all of it, and I never lost sight of what I SHOULD be doing. And now I am here, using the tools, talking to my buddies and taking accountability. FATSECRET is an awesome, non judgemntal community of like minded people who will suport and encourage you. recipies for left over roast beef?
I mix in a skillet with sautéed onion, boiled diced potato's, egg beaters and fat free shredded cheddar, and salsa and make either breakfast burritos, or breakfast muffins.

Nightime Hunger?
A huge thing for me was cutting out diet sodas. They have no calories, but they make you hungry. I think that in my last year of relaxing my diligence a bit, Going back to drinking them fairly regularly was a big contributor to slipping. Also, a cat named PEEFAT gave me a good tip early on: Cottage cheese, 1/2 cup with a little fruit in it. Protein squashes the hunger. Mangos are my favorite in it. DRINK WATER TOO!

Restarting a diet after weight gain
Yep.
Im in the same boat. Re committing. Not to diet, but to getting back to better choices. Crept up around 15 lbs after losing 40. Felt waaaay to good in smaller5 clothes to go back to the big ones. Im logging again and that is the biggest key to success in my experience. Keeps me vigilant.

Shift Workers
A lot of good suggestions here. I work 4pm to 4am 4x a week. I have really struggled. Igenerally bring my own prepared food in to eat, and a lot of fruits and veggies. I have gained aroound 15 lbs in 6 months, and I understand that almost everyone coming to this shift does. I honestly am not eating that badly. However, Like you temptation is everywhere here. Lot of food brought in etc.Biggest change: I used to have the luxury at my day job for nice long lunch time walks or runs mixed with pushups etc. Not so much now. Jobsite very rural, no street lights, hilly and pitch black.(plus lots of "critters " running around!" I am making compromises. I walk in the trailer yard, or pack a flashlight and hit the dark road! Pushups in the office and try to eat right. iT TAKES DISCIPLINE OF A DIFFERENT SORT. If I sleep six hours I am lucky, and you try to pack a lot of life into those precious few hours between work and real life! Hang in there, maybe we will all figure it out together! Mike
