Weighed myself this morning. Scale read 147 lbs. It's now consistently registering 146-147 in the mornings and 149 lbs at night. When I first started in Nov 05 I weighed 214 lbs.
I'm glad I
finally
got over that 150 lb plateau. I've been stuck at 150 lbs for over 6 months.
I fell off the Shangra-La bandwagon this past week. Boo me. Starting today I'm jumping back on. I'll be a happy camper if this coming Wednesday registers 146-147 lbs. I'm trying like hell to not lose muscle. If I keep it down to 1-2 lbs max per week I'll know it'll be mostly fat. Plus the weightlifting should help preserve or (if I'm lucky) build muscle.

Crazy. In the morning I read anywhere from 146-148 lbs now but by evening it's back up to 149-150. I suppose it's a little bit of progress because when I started I weighed anywhere from 150-152 lbs in the evening.

I think I'm going to start weighing myself twice a day. When I get up in the morning and right before bed. I'm amazed at the difference in how much I weigh from morning to night.
I weighed myself again this morning. To my surprise it read 146 lbs. I bet if I weigh myself tonight it'll be back up to 150. That's just odd to see that much variability.
Maybe I should switch to recording morning numbers instead of evening numbers.

I weighed myself this morning again for the second time out of curiosity. Typically I wait until night (my heaviest). The scale read 149 lbs. Though I'm sure it'll read 150 lbs again by nightfall. But at least I now know the 150 is most likely water, not fat.
I've started to do 10 minutes of Step Aerobics a day and every other day will add 5 minutes until I'm up to 60 minutes.
I also do some lifting with some weights every other day to try to minimize muscle loss.
And about 3 hours before I go to bed I eat a can of tuna (water packed). It's pure protein so it'll
A) raise my metabolism by 10-15%
B) Stave off catabolization of muscle
C) give my body enough protein to make more hair (I'm trying to grow my hair past my butt).
Another note: I've started reading Dr. Brian Wansink's Mindless Eating (http://www.mindlesseating.org/) and Dr. Barbara Rolls Volumetrics (http://thevolumetricseatingplan.com/). The research these two have done into what cues people to eat the way they do and the amount they do is fascinating. Their info is based on actual research and published in peer-reviewed academic journals. They make great complimentary reads to go with Shangra-La.

Weighed myself this morning. Something I typically don't do. For the first time in years the scale read 148 lbs. I typically only weigh myself in the evening as that's usually my heaviest. By tonight it'll probably be back up to 150 - 152 lbs.
One other thing I've started doing in addition to Shangra-La. I'm taking L-Tyrosine capsules per "The Diet Cure". L-Tyrosine is the amino the body needs to make thyroid hormones. I break a 500 mg capsule open under my tongue. I've noticed a similar effect to the sugar water. Within 10 - 15 minutes of taking a capsule if I'm hungry the hunger disappears and stays gone for 1.5 - 2 hours.
