I am 47 years old with a five year old son. In the last 6 years I have packed on the weight! It has been so hard to control my food cravings, especially around sugar. Well, my blood work recently came back as pre diabetic, i have been having alot of trouble with fatigue and feeling "down". I initially started with Atkins about 3 years ago, lost about 20 lbs and the weight just continued to come back on. I am hoping by doing the fat flush diet and completely cutting out surgar from my diet that I can decrease the chances of getting a full blown case of diabetes, a stroke or a heart attack. I want to see my son grow up!

has anyone got any recipes for low carb foods?
Have you tried the crustless quiche yet? Hands down, one of my favorite recipes by Atkins! My own adaption to this recipe is 4 oz bacon or spicy sausage, 1/2-1 whole chopped onion, 3/4 cups canned milk or heavy cream, 1-2 boxes drained spinich or broccolli, 8 oz. grated sharp cheddar, swiss or jack cheese, salt and pepper to taste.
Cook meat, drain. Saute onion in leftover grease add in meat. Mix all other ingredients together than add meat and onion. Be sure to use a paper towel to get as much of the liquid out of the spinich or broccolli before you add it in with the other ingredients! Bake at 350 degrees for one hour . I usually cover the quiche with foil and remove the foil the last fifteen minutes. My kid gobbles this up!
