I am really struggling here, but I'm not defeated. I think there are times I'm not getting enough food or calorie intake, which means my body is going into starvation mode. Which also means, the next time I have a meal...POOF!...the scale increases by a pound or two. I refuse to eat the same foods every day, but I need balance. I'm not giving up. The struggle is real. Anybody feel me? "FatSecret"...ain't that the truth. My FAT is definitely tightlipped about the SECRET. lol

gaining 0.2 lb a week

A few weeks ago, I was TOTALLY stumped and a bit discouraged with my weight gain and inability to lose weight. Since that time, I've researched several websites about eating raw foods and now I see where I've made mistakes. I was always told if you consume all natural and whole foods (uncooked, heated, processed or altered), you can eat all you want. Well, I am a living witness that this information is NOT true. What I did NOT learn in my raw food class is the ability to gain weight due to eating an excess of nuts and fruits (tree nuts, seeds and fruits with natural fats like avocados). I was eating nearly 1-2 avocados a day as well as nuts. So, I reduced my tree nuts/seeds intake to 1 oz per serving only 2 days a week and 1/4 avocado when I consume it. This has GREATLY affected my weight loss and is helping me achieve my goal. I'm also meditating and walking more which is keeping me balanced so I won't focus on the emotional side of eating. On the days I am not exercising vigorously, I decrease my natural fat/oils intake and increase the fruits/veggies which has a higher water content and I eat more fresh greens.

I'm back on track and seeing results now. I was becoming a bit discouraged, but I had to really face the fact that it's about holistic health (mental, emotional, physically).
