Life expands in richness and joy...and I find myself at 50 years living and loving more freely and easily. These days I enjoy being GG (Gorgeous Grandmother) to a beautiful two year old girl, plyaing with her weekends and working nights. Last night while the plan was that I rest, I remembered all the jobs I have left and how each change has brought me even greater satisfaction that I could have imagined while I sat at the previous desk. Presently, I am work nights. For a year I played with DA days, but as she has begun daycare life shifts again.

Besides my grand-daughter, my passion is yoga - teaching, sharing, living. My interest in joining here is finding a community of support around health and fitness.

peanut butter nutty buddy
Hi I just started making PB for my grand-daughter...all thoses warnings about allergies, but she loves it...now two and a half years old. I grind it myself at home with my Magic Bullet...a must have! I can measure a serving of nuts (any really), grind them up and there's so much more to go around. Plus, there is no extra fat or sugar...just what came with the roasted or raw nuts. Add some flax seed and coconut powder for a portable treat...Enjoy!

serious now
Welcome...I, too and a mother of three and thankfully they are all out there...I do have my two year old grand-daughter every weekend and some other days. She is a sweety and I am looking forward to running with her this summer. But first, Spring! Here in Missouri we are expecting spring-like weather this weekend and I will dedicate many hours to clearing up the yard and garden.

What I enjoy most about this site is the opportunity to journal about what's going on in my life this time around. I have been very successful in the past in changing my life and my body. This time is different because I am already really happy with my life and who I am. My motives are more subtle. I am beyond impressing others and realize I may not be able to run like I once did. Chasing my little one is the joy in my life, so I work toward that...

Introduce Myself
Hi NC Girl, another Scorpio grrl here...My daughter and I were just sharing our love of food and the annoyance of eating with those who diet and complain. I find that as I shift my eating patterns, my need for volume follows, so that I can still have some very yummy foods without eating as much as I once did. Also, including different spices increases the sensations of foods that are less calorie dense. I generally cook what I like most and save prepared foods for convenience. Even then, I carry some cayenne or hot sauce along. For my own recipes I add ginger, cinnamon, or allspice to the sweet and I keep a variety of peppers (hot and not) for sauces and veggies.

One last thought - taste with all of the tongue. Savor each nuance. Avoid swallowing before the full experience. Find pleasure in every sensation...another aspect of being Scorpio...

Newbie here! Need a new start!
Hi Rhomma, my very best idea about exercise is to check with your physical therapist. I had some serious back problems and it took several PTs before I found one that made sense and gave me the correct exercises to heal my back. Now, even though I feel better, I still remember the principles he taught me and apply them in every instance. The one I will share is good for everyone...before you stand or sit ask your abs, "Mother, may I?" Engage your abdominal muscles before standing or sitting. That's how we protect and support the spine. Be well...
