I'm just curious (and completely not judging you...) but would it be ok if I asked you about your 'day'? How much time and efforts go into your planning for your food throughout the day? I know you work, and I was just wondering... do you have a wife who does the grocery shopping? Do you bring your own lunch? Do you always eat bkfst? Do you pick your dinners and snacks or are they packed for you? Do you exercise regularly? You have one of the most consistent downward marches... and I love that... I think it would be helpful to others to know a little about what's behind your consistency! Just curious... much love... and thanks for sharing if you want to.

Julia, I do a lot of planning about what I eat. My wife and I shop together. I pick most of what I eat, concentrating on fruits and vegetables. I've cut most meat out of my diet, and have it now as an occasional treat rather than on a regular basis. I prepare my own dinners (and pack my lunch, Gail makes sure I do). I eat breakfast every day. I exercise as regularly as I can (2-3 times a week at least, more if possible). What's behind my consistency? Calorie control. Behind that was a warning from my nephrologist that if I didn't start losing weight I would be in deep trouble, followed by asking if I'd considered bariatric surgery. I thought about bariatric surgery for two seconds and decided to try the old-fashioned approach. More than 19 months later, I weigh 196 pounds less than I did when he asked me that provocative question. Put another way, he asked me the right question at the right time and put me on the right track. What I've done over the past few months, I've noticed, has fallen into what might be called 'semi-vegetarian' mode. I eat very little meat; I eat a lot of raw vegetables and fruit (tomatoes, cucumbers, plums, peaches &c.), and a lot of squashes, together with a lot of eggs and a lot of vegetarian meat-substitutes for protein. I hope this answers your questions.
