kimberly rae's Journal, 20 October 2014

Yesterday was another day of moving furniture around and going through all of our closets readying for the wood floors to go in. It's fun and hard work too. This morning I need to finish painting the insides of our closets which are empty! How often do you see that? It feels good to be getting to the underbelly of this remodel. After this - for flooring anyway - its just the little bedroom that holds the twin bed and my library. Moving book boxes is no fun but having all the floors done will make it worth it. I think after the wood floors are done we will do the finishing of the bathrooms. New shower is in but floors and new sink and painting still to finish. Sometimes its best not to think of how much is left to do. I still am not done painting up at Moms. I told her I needed to help Bill for a few days down here. Two huge projects at the same time. Have I lost my mind? The rewards are great though. And down almost a pound at that in one day.
176.8 lb Lost so far: 9.2 lb.    Still to go: 7.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 2.8 lb a week

Way to go. It is 2 big projects, which is a liiiittttle kooky, BUT it's the perfect time of year there to do work. So take care of yourself. Love, k

Painted most of the day and am counting it as my 40 minutes exercise, mainly because I was painting over my head for two hours at Mom's and that is a workout. What's kooky is I've gotten paint on now three t-shirts and probably will need to trash them and I don't even care. Bill is kooky because he loves the challenge of this project. He's having to put new plywood down in places. Yikes! No thank you. I say make it easy and get it off my to do list! all good all good.

Remodeling is hard work and good exercise. Am sure you will love it when it's done! I'm using those now huge baggy t shirst and jeans that are falling off, held up by a belt as paint clothes. Slowly slowly working on my house. Just me so it's squeezed in amongst everything else I do.

DIY home renovation, that's the way to do it if you can...building sweat equity and taking off the pounds at the same time. :)

Thank you guys for your support. I sure love the feeling of our home as we change it to fit us exactly. Bill and I both are working really hard and it feels wonderful. We love our home so much we cant wait to sit back and just enjoy it for a while. And Mom is loving her house so much more too. I'm painting the outside and it is the perfect sand/cream combination. It looks beautiful and the best part is us spending time together. It's all been really fun.

i had our floor sanded before we moved in last july. what a difference! they look great. the house is 100 years old and i don't think they had been sanded in a very long time. there was so much dust though. really, tons of dust. or are you putting in a new floor? exciting either way. good luck.

There is nothing more satisfying then doing-it-yourself projects. When friends and family come over, it feels so good when they compliment you on your house and you get to proudly say, "We did it ourselves". Good luck on your projects and weight loss.

I have my 50's wood floors to sand eventually, they were re-done not that long ago, before I bought the house but not done very well and then not sealed properly. Not looking forward to the mess.
