Good morning everyone!! Happy 4th of July to my American buddies. Everyone else, Happy Friday :)

Kicked ass at the mindful eating thing yesterday. I did not want to cook the pork loin I had planned for dinner, and I was teetering dangerously close to the 'lets just order out' mindset. I had me a Bella moment and tried to figure out what it was that I really wanted. I concluded that what I really wanted was a turkey sub and some chips. So I went to the store, bought all the fixins and had that for dinner. High in the carbs, but it satisfied and I was happy. (Within calorie ranges too)

Went to my moms for a fire last night. I was cautious lol, and prepared to leave if things got too hairy. It wasn't too bad. I (of course) don't drink and drive so it was easy to pass on the booze. However, when the stress started creeping up on me the s'more making station happened to be my lap, and I could SMELL the chocolate. I wanted it so bad, but I stuck to my guns and assembled s'mores for all of the kids and some adults without sneaking one for myself. That is a good solid start to the rest of the weekend. Cookout today at grandmas, graduation party tomorrow.

The scale was the same today as last week. I wanted 179, but you get what you get. It was actually 1.5lbs higher yesterday so I won't bitch. Small fluctuations like that don't really matter, as my body didn't change drastically from yesterday to today. There was a day where I would weigh in three times in one hour trying to get a better number. Really?? Sometimes it worked lol. But did I look any different 15 minutes later when I finally got that pound to disappear via the scale, NO. Weight loss is funny like that. Just over a year of small weight losses and now I'm looking back at old pictures of myself wondering who that girl was. No kidding I look at least ten years younger than I had. My husband had made the comment "You got some years back, that's for sure". I got years back in more ways than one (I hope). And I got quality, something I never really had. Today I'm going to walk the parade route with my daughters baton group, and I'm not even a tiny bit concerned. Easy Peasy lemon squeezy. Excited with my progress, and going to use that to fuel me through the weekend.

Hoping to get some miles today, maybe a walk after the parade if I can convince the hub & kids. A quick trip to the gym if I cant. Tomorrow I'm planning a morning bike ride.

Have a wonderful holiday everyone, remember to be safe, active, and mindful!!

You did a excellent job of staying focused, as that chocolate is a definite temptation. Enjoy yourself at your grandmothers and at the graduation party.

Yes, great job with the s'mores! It's funny what we can do when we really out our minds to it. I like to challenge myself the whole way and it feels so good when the temptation is gone and I didn't cave. Good for you! Have fun at the parade and take lots of pics of your little majorette! Trust me, they grow up so fast and you'll miss those little events. I was in majorettes back in the day for a short time. I remember being in the parade and dropping my baton on purpose toward the crowd so I could get out of line, pick it up near the crowd, and then get back in line - I remember I did this on purpose so people could see me in my cute sparkly outfit! LOL! Otherwise I would've just blended in the middle of the group! Apparently having the cute sparkly outdo fit was more important than being a good twirler! 😄 Have a happy fourth, Yolanda!

Glad things went well at your moms. Amazing with the s'mores! I would have at least had a roasted marshmallow. I don't like them any way but roasted, thank goodness. The parade sounds delightful. You get to burn some calories while having fun. Happy 4th to you as well. I'm off to work, but not sad about it because my client deserves to have people around her that care for her, especially on holidays. We get to watch a parade too!

On the s'mores. Never had one. But if by some freak chance they have them tomorrow, I will do it.

Great job resisting the smores! CR, if they're making them tomorrow you owe it to yourself to at least get a bite of one.

Happy 4th Yolanda!! Great job on not eating a s'more!! I know this is crazy, but I'm not really fond of them!! I LOVE all the ingredients separately, but when you put them together I go >.< !! lol! Have fun walking the route with your daughter!!

Being English I had to google S'mores. That took some willpower assembling them and not eating one! I don't have much of a sweet tooth but they look great although I guess a bit sickly. Have a great day, Yo ... and everyone :-)

Hm.. I'm convinced I wrote something lengthy and philosophical as well as inspiring and mind altering on your journal yesterday but it seems to be gone. Happy day after!
