Well it's been about a month now, and I'm down a total of 30 pounds. I think the hardest part so far is tring to find time to exercise more. I'm finding that on weeks that are slower for me (less fires and EMS calls) the more weight I lose. Monday and Saturday were the only days this week that we did'nt have a structure fire and or EMS call, and I only lost 3 pounds this week. Working on a fire is by far more intense then any amount of time I spend in the gym, so I know thats not the problem, so my conclusion is that I am not consuming enough calories on these days and my metabolism is going into shut down mode! Most of the time fire calls last from 2 to 6 hours and you might get a 5 minute break in there, the Red Cross often brings food for the family and firefighters, problem being it's not exactly SB friendly. I know I should'nt complain about losing 30 pounds in a month, but I know I can do better.
330.0 lb Lost so far: 30.0 lb.    Still to go: 130.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I read over the holiday weekend that if you take one day off per week and eat whatever you want (preferably healthy foods), it helps prevent the "metabolism shutdown". I believe that I may implement this into my own regimen for several reasons.

30 pounds in a month is absoluetly amazing --don't be too hard on yourself, you are making really great progress. Keep up the good work!

You are doing awesome. Keep it up. I know we all hate to hear it, but the slower it comes off the more likely you are to keep it off. That is what I keep telling myself. My weight loss has slowed to 1-2 pounds a week which frustrates me because I am following my diet perfectly, but I know in the long run that is best. Keep it up!!

I just have to say though that I don't even know you and I'm incredibly proud of you. You have lost 30 pounds. No, wait a minute, let me say that again....You have lost THIRTY POUNDS in a month!! That is a pound every day my friend! You are doing awesome and as long as you keep going and dedicate yourself to your new healthy lifestyle you are going to reach that goal and keep it!
