No.. Don't freak out. Sometimes it's water gain (if you drank alot of fluids) It could also be your muscle building up since you did more exercise yesterday. Muscle is heavier than fat and in less dense. Also, I don't know how reliable this is but I have heard others mention that if you lower your intake too low your body goes into "starvation mode" and you body starts to store calories because your body thinks you are not going to feed it. Some would advise raising your caloric intake a bit. You don't want to put it too low. Hope this helps, Jen

Muscle is heavier than fat. You could be gaining muscle. You could be gaining muscle and you would weight a pound or two more but measure less in inches. Also AH is right water retention also a factor. You said tell it to you straightly. When is the last time you went poop? That also affects wait when you have not been regular for a bit. Not to sound like a commercial, but Activia yogurt does keep you regular, drink plenty of water and balance your fiber as well. Alchohol throws the metabolism when you are trying to lose weight. Even low calorie beers. The body is a funny thing. It will be ok. Give it a day or two. Stay on track. Eventually you will get off the plateau. I am stuck there with you for over 2 weeks. So lets try to get off together. Melissa

Oh Mike, I just looked at your sodium. 29th, 5950 mg, 30th 4352, 31's 7415. Sodium causes serious water retention. Watch the sodium intake. This could be the culperate of your weight gain. From google. 2400 mg of sodium according to the FDA, though some have proposed lower recommended levels of sodium (from 1500-2000 mg), especially for those with hypertension. Studies are still under way. Yes,yes, individuals exerting themselves and heavily perspiring for a few hours a day may need more than this, but remember that the average American consumes more than twice the recommended in a day. Put away your salt shakers, just about everyone needs to cut back on their salt.

I was up .4 from yesterday... and my sodium was through the rough too. Drink life of water today and flush the ol system out.

No problem. You may want to measure. I have been plateua'd but my belt is going tighter. I bet you are gaining muscle mass too. I switched to No Salt and other herbs for seasoning. It take a bit to get used to but you adapt. I think you are doing great. Just takes time and patience. Patience is not one of my virtues, so I totally understand your feelings.

I bought an Iron Man scale not too long ago. Boy has it saved me from a lot of meltdowns already. It gives you water weight, fat, muscle, bone and even gives you a calorie amount. My calories show around 1300. If I gain weight and it shows up as water or muscle, it's all good. I can easily spiral downhill if I gain weight. That is one of the reasons I gained so much weight to begin with...You diet, you exercise, you still gain here and there and then you say screw it and gain even more! It's my vicious cycle.
