Jenfar's Journal, 20 December 2013

Had dinner out last night at a restaurant and i am very pleased to say that no dramatic weigh in fluctuation from yesterday - in fact same weight as yesterday! I read all the tips section and realized i just have to say no to desert and avoid the bread and butter. I still had wine and liquor and espresso coffee with sweetener and it was even better than any dessert! Had pumpkin soup with cumin for starters and quails' breast with quinoa in a starter portion and it felt really good not to feel overstuffed. Oh i am over the moon, cos the last time i had gone out i registered an increase of 2 kilos overnight! now to wait and watch out for Christmas lunch at my sister in law! wish it was my turn to cook this year :)
132.9 lb Lost so far: 3.3 lb.    Still to go: 7.3 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Do not weigh yourself too often. You body weight fluctuates naturally and it may not give you a true reading the day after.

I weigh myself every day in the morning, it's the only thing to keep me in check! when i weighed myself every week or took the advice to forget the weigh-ins, i piled on the kilos without noticing and then got the fright of my life. 15 kilos in 2 years! no joke! now working hard to get down and it's not easy!

15 kilos in 2 years is about half a kilo a month. How about doing a weekly weigh in?

neqa, weekly weigh-in will not work for me... i want to see my chart go down, i will adust my food intake accordingly and it helps me plan what to eat for the day. I cant afford weekly weigh in at the moment. I came to this web-site as i saw good tools and great buddies. I'm interested in losing the weight because i know when i weighed 48-50 kilos i had a fantastic body two years ago. I'm a small 5ft 2in, i was that weight and held it for a steady 9 years after my son was born. I want to get back to that!

Do not try and lose weight too quickly. A majority of people who lose weight too quickly just end up putting it all back on. I can tell that you are serious about losing weight, I just don't want to see you putting it on again.

Have you tried eating prior to eating out with friends/family during Christmas? I tried this last year and I had great success with it. I was able to keep within my calorie count and ate in moderation. The concept is to be full before eating at other peoples' so you don't overindulge. I wish you fantastic holiday and keep your eye on the prize!!!

Hey Jenfar - I'm with you on the daily weigh ins. Even if I register a slight increase, there is something about it that gives you a bit of a kick to make sure not to let it get out of control. I agree that it is a good feeling not to feel over stuffed after going out. There is a place we frequent here and I usually have an appetizer portion of something and then a piece of fish - feels great to walk out with your head held high! Keep up the good work, Cheers, Lynn
