Ruhu's Journal, 09 April 2013

Holding steady with the number on the scale, but growing in other ways:)! This morning I'm feeling healthy, happy, thankful and content with the direction that what started as a weight loss journey has taken. Who would have thought I'd get to know my inner rebellious child (who I'm attempting to make friends with, but she can be very stubborn), my inner critic (who I'm trying to teach to be less judgmental -- she's equally stubborn & resistant to change) & my inner introvert (who masquerades as an extrovert to the point of total exhaustion at times), in addition to meeting so many wonderful, loving, supportive friends here on FS. And that's only part of it, my journey has taken me through an elimination diet identifying lactose, gluten & sugar as problem areas of intolerance; lead me to add prayer, meditation & journaling to my daily life; and to recognize that this is my journey, including all its twists, turns, potholes & u-turns and it may or may not parallel the route of others trying to also find their way (weigh?!?). And, maybe most importantly, to travel along one day or one meal or one moment or one bite or one emotion at a time.

So, I'll gratefully start my day in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

As I continue on my journey this one day, meal, moment, bite & emotion at a time. xoxox

Well then - keep on growing! I think you've got that Introvert under control but hope your inner child doesn't grow up to be a rebellious teenager - LOL.
