posterchild66's Journal, 03 January 2013

Up some from last week. Its from bobs party time lounge for sure! Oh heck, it was all fun and games until someone gained 10 lbs.

Like in some of my ramblings from over the holidays, my legs are really strong now from lots of riding. So I will just get back on my routine of riding, healthy eating, sticking to RDI's as best I can, and cheat day Friday. With the possible exception of tomorrow as enough cheating happened Mon/Tues for sure. I dunno, in a way I just want to get back on schedule asap even if that does mean cheating tomorrow.

I am kind of proud of myself for riding through some wicked hangover mornings. A few of them I had my partner I ride with on weekends to thank, and a few of them he was missing on when I was really proud. Tomorrow is long ride, 25 mile minimum. I like to shoot for 2 hours out there on Fridays. I have rested the legs since Monday, so I should be good to go.

My smart phone is ready, so I have to go get it here in a bit. I have been without it since Christmas. Took me a few days to carry it in, and then 4 business days to repair. It just flashed on me and died while sending a text, should be covered under warranty. That inhibited some logging, although I log very poorly when not at work anyway. I spent a lot less time on computers when not here, since that is sort of my job.

Thursdays is Mongolian BBQ day here on base. It is the best food we get a crack at all week. I try to pile up lots of veggies, limit the meat and eat a few of my noodles. Its probably 900-1000 cals easy though. And salty! Besides being anti social and going home, that is the best I can do. I see some fitness type sailors and marines getting it without carbs. I dont have that kind of will power, lol.

Oh, happy announcement. We got a new kitty over the holidays named "Spooky". She is about 7 weeks old, a bundle of energy, and has VERY sharp claws and teeth! I will post pictures when I get my phone back. She is almost all black to match our other house panther. We got her from a family who could not keep her, and she is working out great so far.

LOL... I'm gonna TOTALLY steal that one... "It's all fun and games until someone gains 10 lbs". Hahahahaha.... I do think you're doing so well, and I am super amazed at your bike adventures. Looking forward to seeing Spooky! Love the name!

Great work on the biking. It is ALWAYS better with a partner! We use to have a Mongolian BBQ right next to our office until recently they went out of business. :( Kingkeld and now you have journaled about it now and guess what I have a craving for? :)Happy New Year

Well, infractions aside, you're still doing well! I could never ride that long or far! Just thinking about it gives me a PITA. Good thing you have a partner to keep you going. It always helps! I can't wait to see your new kitty, too! I had a kitty years ago, all black Maine Coon named Spooky! He was my baby-my first kitty. He was a gorgeous fluffy spoiled purebred. Because of his pure blood, he had a heart defect that took him from us way too soon. We're now on cats 6 and 7, brothers, both black, the only differences are their sizes and eye color, so we have different color collars to tell them apart at a glance. Booger is the big boy with bright green eyes, Ogre the smaller with beautiful amber eyes. They're just short of 10 months old, rambunctious, and soooo sweet and lovey. They love their Dogga sister, Gigi, too. We love the zoos, too!! Keep going and please use very descriptive language when you post about the BBQ, as I'll be living vicariously. We had a bad ass steak night the other night, and it'll be the last one for a while. Cutting red meats for a while. Happy weekend!!!

Thanks Neptunebch, I like having a partner some mornings. Sometimes I would like to hide though, lol. Heather, yes it was BBQ. Spooky got her name from previous owners, and since she is black and seems to have been born around Halloween, we like it. In my old age I keep calling her Smokey for some reason. There have been some mentions of changing it. Zippi, thanks! I just hunted for kitties, but they are in rest or hiding phase now. I did opt for chicken today, probably about 6 ozs, and lots of veggies. I do not add oil, but the boys who cook it do, or the neighbor I have on the flat top, so it is plenty oily.

Cute ~ fun & games until... reads like a hazard label that should be printed on junk food. Great journal and kudo's to riding with a hangover - that's dedication!
