There. That's better. I stayed under 20 carbs yesterday, and the results are good whenever I do that! And I feel so much better, too! I worked way too late yesterday, and then when I got home, my husband still wanted to talk about real estate!! I'm afraid I nearly took his head off when he started lecturing me about my working too hard, AND I realized how late it was, because I hadn't eaten anything for nearly 8 hours. I think he realized he'd pushed me too far, so we ate and agreed not to talk any more because my brain just needed some peace!!

Yes, I work hard -- but not full time! I don't go to the office until 11:00 most days, and I usually quit right at 5:00. But he's planning on retiring SOON (like by the end of the year at the latest!) and we don't have enough money set aside to actually not work anymore, so we both plan on selling real estate and hopefully making enough money to invest for future years. [uh oh -- I'm gonna VENT!!! EVERYBODY DUCK!!!] What makes him think I can sit at home doing crafts or something when suddenly we won't have his paycheck coming in every month??? One night he's talking about moving to Austin and wanting to go see land there etc. etc. and the next night he's talking about buying a house in Tucson! The bottom line is, we don't know WHAT is the best for us to do! And I admit I'm so overwhelmed by it all that I just hunker down and work on the stuff that's right in front of me at the office.

I'd appreciate it if those of you who are believers would say a prayer for us because we really need some direction for the rest of our lives!!! Love you guys! I really appreciate being able to tell somebody how I'm feeling. Hmmm. I guess I'm still tired. That's enough dumping for one day!

Ohhhh gramn...have faith that the answers that you seek will be there and will indicate the possibilities ahead for you..I suppose that for a while perhaps all sorts of crazy options may be thrown out there but they will fade if they are not right.. you have shown yourself already as one who possess' incredable abilities...you will work this out...and I for one will storm the heavens for ya..

how about going to Charles Schwab or some such trusty finanacial advisors, and have them look at your financial portfolio and figure out your options---at least those will be informed alternatives than trying to put the pressure on yourselves to come up with options from scratch. I agree with Dave--You always sound so wise and grounded, I'm sure you'll figure out something good soon..good luck in the interim.

Steady as she goes, I guess your boat is rocking right now, but breath deep, right now these are all just options, the right plan for you and yours will become know in time, the hard part is having patience and faith. The unknown is unsettling and scary but you are not alone and these decisions do not have to be made RIGHT NOW! You are being pushed out of your comfort zone, but you are up to the challenge, you have proven yourself in the past. Again, take another deep breath, all will be well in the Lord's time.

Kudos to you for staying under 20 carbs! I feel your pain about the retirement thing. My husband and I are self-employed. He keeps saying he wants to sell the business and retire but we are still 10 - 12 years from collecting Social Security and we need to keep working right now in order to pay the bills! Medical insurance alone costs an arm and a leg!! It's a difficult and scary time because we want to retire but we don't want to end up in the poor house either. I agree with the others that a visit to a financial planner might be in order! Good Luck! P.S. Let me know if you get any good ideas :)
