Kedrake18's Journal, 25 April 2019

I haven't logged my weight in awhile. This morning it was back at 376.5. It had jumped up to 383 and has slowly come back down from that. Salt and water retention I think. I'm fairly certain I have lost more weight than that, because my clothes are fitting differently now. Jeans not as tight even from a week ago. And some of my 'go to' pairs are just too loose. lol. I usually weigh every morning if I remember or have time to. Sometimes it just feels like someone is stepping on the back of my scale adding weight.... But the more I stick to my plan, the faster I lose, the better I feel, which leads to the will power to keep going.

My office was re-arranged yesterday, so while I didn't move anything heavy, I had more movement at work than I usually do. I think I may have stressed my back, I spent quite a bit of time last night with the cold pack strapped to my lower back. -_- And it's still sore/achy this morning. My left leg is stiff, increased numbness down the back of the leg. Sitting too long makes it hurt when I have to get up to walk or move. Add what looks like rain today, and I think I'm in for a long day. Probably going to a very long hot shower tonight, it always makes my back feel better. Then strap the ice pack to it again afterwards.

Really ready for Friday to be done with, so I can get to the weekend. We've been busy for weeks with different things going on each weekend. So I'm ready for a weekend at home. I have a few projects I want to get done. Mostly cleaning and organizing. I bought 2 new storage shelves for the toddler's toys. My hubby 3D printed some wall mount hooks for me about a month ago. They're going in our entry way area to hand back packs, purses, and diaper bags on. Very excited for that. Kids = Clutter. No doubt about it.

My youngest thought the scale was loads of fun. Apparently flowers and extra feet help. ;) On a side note, she also weighed herself this morning as well. lol. I think she likes the blue light that comes on.

So short goal. See even a half pound lower on the scale. Really could use that small scale victory. :) Need that extra push of motivation.

If you've read this far. You are Awesome, and have incredible perseverance. I hope you have a Wonderful Day.

Take care of yourself, look up some nerve stretching for the lower body, may help a bit. There is also self traction for the lower back by laying on the floor and putting your legs up on a chair (hips and knees at 90 degrees). I know your pain, but you got this!

I bought some arnica gel for my aches and pains; it really helps.

If your jeans are loose it’s ALL good. Pat yourself on the back. And give that adorably helpful baby a kiss from me.

You can do this. It is a matter of being consistent. Each step forward will add up in the end. Remember the place you get your 'biggest bang for the buck' is in what you eat and how much of it. Exercise is good but it doesn't make the difference on the scale that eating well does. Exercise is for feeling limber and helping your body to function well it doesn't make all that much difference in weight loss. I am saying this as a person who exercises an hour daily!

@Laraae - My tiny terror is a hoot, but I love her toes too, I took it easy yesterday, but woke up worse today. I may take time to just lay on my stomach tomorrow and read for several hours and see if that helps. @Dhatura I'm currently on doc orders to take it easy, until I see the specialist. I have been doing some stretches daily, but I think I just irritated it moving stuff and now there is a lot of inflammation, or at least that what it feels like. Hot and sore. Anti-inflammatory and hot and cold packs for now. @Re-energize: I wish I could have gotten a pic of my own face when she first put her foot on the scale. 'Like really child. You're not helping here. Mooooooove.' She weighed herself again today, looks like it'll be a daily thing for her now. @Erikahollister: I had to look up arnica gel. Not sure if it would work for me. The soreness and pain in my left leg isn't really real. Its from a compressed nerve root in my lower spine, there is a herniated disc pressing on it. And when I do too much, it presses harder and inflames that nerve area causing the sensation of more pain down that leg. @Tasha: Non-scale victories are a wonderful thing, I look for the positive in most things, and will do with the hugs and kisses.

Celebrate every victory, and make every setback just a reason to re-commit to your health.

@59Carol: I try to be as consistent as I can. I think I struggle with the fact that in 2010 I went from 304lbs to 245 in 6 months, same diet, but lots more exercise. But I was younger, and didn't have the back issues. So the rewards in wait loss have been slower. I was doing great back then too til I had to have a cyst removed from my foot, recovered from that and immediately moved about 2hrs away. I just didn't know the area enough back then to find an area where I felt safe walking and exercising. Also had tons of unpacking to do.

@Kata Strophic: I think you stated it wonderfully. That's exactly what I'm trying to do. Thank you for the support and encouraging words.
