I can't believe yesterday I had a DQ Blizzard and then pizza for supper! OK - I mean it this time, its time to get back to my healthier eating and to remember that maintenance is not a free for all. I have some healthy veggies and foods in my refrigerator but was so exhausted this weekend after the bike rides and yard work that I didn't get them prepared for the week.

I went to boot camp cycling class this morning - only 4 left - I will make the most of these remaining classes. Today the intervals that we did were 20 seconds at all out 100% effort followed by letting up on the effort a bit (but not the tension on the bike) for 40 seconds - we did 5 minutes of those followed by 5 minutes of recovery for the hour class. The instructor said she does these intervals when she is outside riding her road bike. This is something I need to do this year - I tend to do all "steady state" rides. Although they are good for endurance, those types of rides don't really improve my speed. It will be fun when I'm riding outside next time to try to incorporate some interval training!

Maintenance shouldn't be about depriving yourself of occasional treats....as a DQ treat and pizza are....I hope once in awhile doesn't hurt too badly when I finally get to goal....You ARE doing awesome....below the blue line and working out regularly.....IMHO - you're right on course....even with the treats!!! hugggies
