It is the start of a new year! At least for me and the incoming class of medical students. So I am making the commitment to get back on Fat Secret and track my food and exercise. The start of a new academic year seems like a good time to get serious about this. It will be a totally hectic semester but I need to learn how to not stress, work exercise into my day, and not use food as a way to unwind and relax!Today I signed up at the wellness center for a personal trainer to help me establish a routine, incorporate strength training into my exercise program, and keep me accountable! My bone density scan revealed early thinning - I need to track my calcium intake (and take my Fosomax, Calcium, and Vit. D) and get some weight bearing exercise. I'm feeling strong - I'm ready for a new year and getting back to more healthy habits!

Yeah for you!!!! Let me know how that goes with the personal trainer. I know I need to add weights to my routine also but I so hate using the machines at the rec.
