Good Morning, FS Warriors! Thought I had better check in, time just keeps slippin away. Ran 3 1/2 miles Sunday morning, even though I meant to run 4.0. Just didn't have the motivation and none of the moving parts seems to be working together properly. Stopped the torture by coming to a halt and walking the rest of the way back. Sometimes you just have an off day, but I am more inclined to believe that it is a result of my unrestrained gluttony. This morning I woke up at 3:30. DW was already awake and had been up and down all night. I told her I was going running. She said it was pouring down rain. For a few minutes, I thought, "Cool, I'll just go back to sleep." Then I thought, "I had better get up and check for myself, I really do need to maintain the momentum. Looked outside and the ground was wet, but it wasn't getting any wetter, and there were even stars in the sky. I ran 3.2 miles, and felt much better and ran at a faster pace than I did Sunday. Glad I got up. Went and picked up my motorcycle Friday where a friend who has a lot of experiene with vintage Harleys had worked on it. It had just started to rain when I left his shop. A couple minutes into the ride, it just poured, Then the wind picked up and I had a hard time keeping the bike in the lane. If that wasn't enough, and I was already soaked from head to toe, the hail started. I had a windshielf and fairing, but my legs felt like I was getting pelted by a shotgun blast. My shoes filled up with water, and I couldn't get over 40 mph. By the time I got home and put the bike in the garage, I bet I weighed an extra 10 pounds from the water my clothing and shoes had absorbed. I'm not going to say that it was the worst I have ever ridden in, but I can't think of a worse one right now. I Went for a ride the next evening, with the sun shining, by myself for about an hour and a half, and that ride turned out to be a lot more pleasant. Felt good to get out on bike with no set destination and no agenda. Wasn't a long ride, just long enough. Settling down on the eating again. Got to get serious; 10K race in 3 weeks. I don't want to be wishing I wasn't dying. I'd kind of like to enjoy the race. Well, here's hoping everyone has a wonamous day. Toodles!

Yikes. Wind, rain and hail. All on a motorcycle. I'm a wimp ~ I don't even like being in a closed in vehicle with all that. Wow.

I've got 3 bikes, small, med, and large. Haha. Actually, one has been converted to a trike, and the other is an old '79 Sportster Ironhead. This bike is my favorite though; it's the first year that Harley Davidson bought the company back from AMF. That's what the little eagle insignia on the front fender commemorates.

I have a friend with a Panhead from somewhere around that time, I wanted to say 78 but it's not AMF so.....I'm not sure...

Well, Socolova, '65 was the last year for the Panhead, and AMF bought Harley in '69, so he has a real vintage bike.

Nice... does it have air conditioning?

Well, Bella, it will certainly chill you when the sun goes down. That encourages the rider to hug you tighter though. :)
