So yesterday I finally bought into paid membership to my main online recipe resource. (Allrecipes.com) Keep in mind that they have been marketing their paid membership for months. You can't go anywhere on the website without being assaulted by appeals to get the added perks of being a 'supporting member'. Why now? Well, whoever at the company suggested marketing a meal planning interface and nutrition information based recipe search is the one responsible for successfully getting me to shell out money on a site that I've used for several years now. I think I may not regret it as long as I don't allow myself to get too consumed by searching through the site instead of getting my other chores done. I'm in the clumsy stage right now, trying to get used to the new features. To be fair I still face that here on FS sometimes. It is sometimes an exercise in frustration to try and enter food that eat into my diet calendar. A friend of mine who recently joined FS discovered that idiosyncrasy this site has as he tried to add a food from the food database that was entered into my food log and could be found on my computer, but not on his. Anyhow, it looks like the subscription is paying off already. Tonight's dinner was a product of that; a 3 course meal at around 400 calories total. (And I was able to make it- start to finish in about an hour, a personal record/best for me.) :-D !!!

I love allrecipes.com but yet to pay for it.. way to go on the 400 meal! ill be checking out your cookbook shortly for some ideas :)
