LauriSinger's Journal, 15 March 2014

Measured my waist, and I'm 1 1/2" smaller than I was a month ago--hurray! And those other pants do fit, quite comfortably. I'm very encouraged. I know I won't eat exactly like this forever. I know I will have to tweak my eating plan as it goes, and I trust that eventually I will be able to eat more fruits and veggies. But for now, I'm keeping my nose to the grindstone and concentrating on eating high fat--and only as much as I feel like my body needs. I'm going to use the 1400 cal guideline as my max, if I ever start to eat more. And I'm looking forward to the summer when I plan on starting my walks. (hmm...maybe, just maybe, I can start walking now on the weekends. Weekdays are, unfortunately, too full and exhausting right now).

Shoveling snow for 3 hours yesterday after working out on Sunday just got me needing rest. So, I didn't check what was going on MFT. Surprise! Laurisinger is 1.5" smaller! Congratulations! I know what it means b/c I myself do not weigh myself but keep up with measurements. Keep an eye on the carbs! I follow Atkins combined with calorie cycling. It's been good to me. If you feel that Atkins deprives you and it's a diet rather than a lifestyle you will adopt, then maybe you should consider looking into other diets that encompass more food choices such as the Fast Metabolism Diet or "The 100" from Jorge Cruise. You don't want to be on a diet that makes you miserable. I like "The 100": easy, virtually no food restrictions. Just throwing this out there for you to consider. Exercise? I sometimes just sit in my chair and follow a video on the computer. check this or just google seated exercises. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WefYdl5xnhg. Good luck!

Great job Lauri, I have lost a fair amount of weight since we spoke. I am following the old Atkins. To loose weight I eat around 1400 calories a day, 80% or more fat, 5% or less of carbs and the remaining 15% or so in protein. The Dr.Atkins did not believe in veggies in induction phase either... I was stuck on a 4 months plateau and that did the trick! I also did a fat fast that Dr.Atkins has in his book, lost 5 pounds in 5 days and did not gain anything back after as I followed his instructions. Life's good! Have a terrific day everyont!
