Going back home in an hour - I hope there'll be veggies (and coffee. I think I'm having too much caffeine but I don't really want to cut back on it :D ). And then I'll finally be able to weigh myself again (tomorrow morning) but I'm not sure if I lost weight. I actually feel like I gained weight. :p

I was tempted to have a piece of waffle yesterday (My sister offered it to me and I was almost taking a bite) but then I said I can't have it and gave it back. :D I want to save these cheat meals for moments when I'm out for a dinner, or when a friend offers me homemade cookies etc (can't deny food if it's made with love!). But I can live without super processed snacks. ^^

I decided what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow and I already bought the ingredients: Cream cheese pancakes (basically pancakes without flour/sugar ^^)! I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners or other zero calorie sugar alternatives so was thinking of cutting a couple of blueberries into 4 pieces and mixing it with the dough.

Had wayyy too much protein today, and no veggies at all! I hope I'll have some tomorrow

Caffeine is such a controversial substance. There are a million things saying it's good for you and a million things saying it's bad heheh. Don't worry about gaining weight once or twice. It's an adaptive process! :) Oh, that's terrible (having sweets offered to you when you can't eat them :P) You should probably ask people you know not to offer you those things lol. If you keep being offered these things, it's going to be near impossible to resist them :P. You can deny the food if they know you can't eat it previously I think :) I don't think I would have a problem with that.

That's true! I always tell people about the study that suggests people that drink 4-5 cups of coffee per day live longer :') But indeed, it's supposed to increase your metabolism but it also raises cortisol which causes weight gain. And it helps with people's morning visit to the toilet and it's also a diuretic which can cause constipation :D It increases your focus while make you all jittery if you have too much... Well I guess you should just drink it if you like it and not have too much.

Caffeine is interesting. I drink 2 cups of coffee daily because the antioxidants are good for your memory. The mayoclinic.org website says up to 300 mg caffeine is a healthy benefit, but if you drink 4 or more cups a day, you will have some unpleasant effects: insomnia, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, stomach upset, fast heartbeat, muscle tremors.

I'm with you - caffeine is one of my few remaining vices.

I guess that ends up being one's only valid criteria with such conflicting information Doublecheese! :)

My late grandmother drank 8 cups of coffee for a long time in her life heheh. This is not any conclusion. It's just a funny curiosity lol.

Wow Doublecheese, I've just glanced at your weight graph! That's an amazing drop! :)

Just one thing Deb, I've read something recently about anti-oxidants which is worrying and, confirming the latest trend about how some things can be good and bad for you at the same time unfortunately: http://tinyurl.com/obqc24t

Of course that, I don't know the validity of this study. After seeing that excellent "Science for smart people" video posted by Doublecheese here, one starts to wonder :)

Whoa, that's creepy! Especially the part that says there hasn't been a clinical study that proves that antioxidants help to prevent diseases... Reminds me of that (observational) study that suggests coffee drinkers live longer. " Inverse associations were observed for deaths due to heart disease, respiratory disease, stroke, injuries and accidents, diabetes, and infections, but not for deaths due to cancer."

I'm glad it sounds fishy to you Doublecheese! :) It definitely is similar to what is described in that video! heheheh

One of my rules of thumb is to avoid exaggerating the consumption of anything that is powerful enough to alter your mental state :)
