MrsTofu's Journal, 29 December 2010

I felt really crappy yesterday. In the afternoon my mood just tanked. Skipped dinner and went to bed early. I don't feel as bad as yesterday, but I don't feel good either.

Ten things that I am grateful for (to complete the 5 things I'm grateful for each day mini challenge):

1- a working car.
2- the house continually being improved
3- rain in due season
4- knowing that I alone am not sufficient to meet my needs or anyone else's
5- having a Helper
6- teachable moments, for both me and my daughter
7- public parks and libraries
8- good advice
9- a shoulder to cry on
10-patience, both having it to give and receiving it from others

Thanks, Coach! Today turned out better than it started. I got to see my sister for a couple hours which was nice. (I don't get to see her very often because she lives near LA in California, so it's hard for her to fly out when cost of living, etc. is exorbitantly expensive there.) Also I took a less lazy approach to lunch and cooked a good meal. Cooking good food generally helps me feel better because I know I am doing something productive and appreciable. I found an awesome new way to cook quinoa which I am excited about since that stuff is so good for you. (A lot of times it can be very plain and that makes cooking it discouraging. Seeing food go to waste is upsetting for me and knowing that people are avoiding certain foods because they don't like the taste only compound the issue. However, the recipe I found is simple, healthful, and not bland. :) That equals WIN.)
