How's all my friends doing today? It's a Sunday, so I imagine that you're all lounging around on the sofa watching TV and getting geared up to face the upcoming week!! yahoooo!!
It wasn't has hot today as it was yesterday, so I didn't wimp out and quit early. I stuck it out til 9pm, accomplished an incredible amount of work from my list, and moved like lightening again...like I never had the flu!
I was so bummed when it came time for the world series baseball game to come on TV. Instead of being on the same channel as the day before, it was on one that we don't have a subscription for! Ridiculous, I tell you! I had to wait until the game highlights were posted on the net! But thankfully, WE WON 6-1!!!!
I have to say, I was really touched at all of you sending up a holla for my favorite team! LOL I just love you all!! Now we will face Georgia either tomorrow or Tuesday in double-elimination. One thing is for sure; all this baseball watching is ruining my chances of even getting out of the house this weekend! Both of my jobs are way too close to home!! I'm burned out sticking around here!
Hubby and I had a lil' blow-out today, first time in MONTHS. He wanted to go on an afternoon date, no compromises...but I said no (nicely of course!). I'm buried in work with no end in sight, and he just didn't give me enough notice. I would have LOVED THE BREAK! Many of the things I have going on couldn't wait another day, though. Several hundred trees have situations with their water supply that is critical. I only noticed it as I was leaving last night, so it was already weighing me down with worry as soon as I got up this morning. IF I could have dropped it all for him today, I would have in a second! I gotta work on a make-up plan since he's so disheartened. I guess the work load is getting to both of us right now...
My bio pic is in honor of MBHPRO. She wanted to see what my 200 ft redwood trees looked like! The only pics I could find in my 2 minute search was some shots of what it looks like UNDER the trees!
I was telling her how my teenage son invited over his band members to spend the night Saturday night, (all great kids but not too smart!) and for kicks, they ran around our spread (20 acres) all night long getting into mischief! They shot each other with BB guns while running like crazed maniacs thru the vineyards, AND then all of them climbed to the top of these 200 ft redwood trees! As he's telling me, my hubby who was standing behind him, had this dropped jaw kind of look on his face as Mitchell was excitedly telling me how he wanted to wake me up so that I could see their spectacular feat! WE live in the country! There's OWLS in them trees, numbskulls!! I just shook my head...and thanked God that all of them managed to get back home in one piece!
Boys live with such wreckless abandon!! It's a wonder how they live so long!
So, here's to the rest of the day! Let's get some work done on those diets, make some dinner fit for a queen, whip up some sun tea, and watch the Bulldogs move on to victory!!

You sound so gung ho today! That's great! Thanks for posting the pic of the redwoods. We don't have those kind of trees in my part of the woods. Boys will be boys I guess :D Good luck for your Bulldogs!!

Go Bulldogs!! I watched part of the game - sorry that they lost. I'm a HUGE baseball fan, so any baseball is good for me!! I love the story about the boys - ha! Boys are crazy....

Yes, rural life is awesome! But why would rousting some old owl be a problem? Seems like shooting each other with BB guns would be a lot more risky! Wow -- you are really laid back!

Your backyard is 20 acres? Wow..that sounds more than ever our dear old Queen has! That must be great to run around in but a pain to maintain!! My son has a broken leg and is currently out cycling with a friend...they just never learn! Go Bulldogs (whoever they are!!)

Hey, those owls have razer sharp teeth! If they attack, they'll slice into your skin rather deeply, and just as if it was butter! and that's not 'LAID BACK', THAT'S OUTTA CONTROL!! :) actually, the BB's are this new plastic thing intended to replace paint balls! They show off their bruises from being shot at, as if they were trophies! What can I do? I tried beating him, but he just laughs! LOL

Man I wish I was a motivated as you were today! I just didn't get much done and slept in and read most of the day. Boys don't listen very well do they? Your trees sound wonderful; wish I could make a trip out and see them! Hope your team does well!!!

I think that you have one of the best jobs in the world... more than a job really.. tis like a vocation, and of course hubby realizes, doesn't he, how demanding it is and how much you need to put in to it to keep on top. I bet your next date will make up for any disappointment..Although I was born and dragged up and work in Dublin, I live for leaving it behind at the end of the day to travel home to the countryside... isint it the best!

GO BULLDOGS! GO BULLDOGS! WON 6-1!!!! GO BULLDOGS! Sorry about that little blow-out with hubby today, but you know you were right. Sometimes it is very hard to say NO to hubby. I know he will understand. I'm sure everything is alright by now.

Actually Queen sounds funny to me too. For some reason, when I hear the word queen, it brings up visions of Freddie Mercury and the gang, not the white haired granny Queen Elizabeth II (who I must say, I look and sound like!!LOLLLL)

Complete change of subject (even though the boys' Tom and Huck adventures sound lively)...I just read your comment to my comment from your yesterday's journal. I LOLed so hard at the visual of you shocking and weirding out people with your mom/daughter or sister/sister act :)! Hilarious! Hey, how about posting a pic of the two of you here? It'd be fun to see the resemblance :)
