In the big scheme of things - no change is a good thing! However, NO CHANGE on the scale doesn't mean there are no changes going on in my life. Stress is indeed my biggest enemy - as it causes all kinds of issues in my system.

I have been eating healthy, continuing to exercise every other day, and I am feeling MUCH better! So, for me... that's good progress! I have never known my body to shed weight easily... not on low carb, or counting calories, or any other such anything!

Slow and steady... I will plod along until I get where I want to be. No matter how fast I would like it to go... it ain't gonna happen. So I have some time to build back good habits (which I am doing)... and time to deal with some of the stress and issues that cause me to 'hold onto' the weight to begin with. (which I have not been doing!)

It's time... and well overdue. Life is far too short to live w/ regrets, unforgiveness or even believing lies that have no place in your truth!

While I may stir up and disturb some very sensitive issues that I thought I put to bed a LONG time ago... it's all good. There's no way to truly move on - without dealing w/ forgiving myself, forgiving others, and learning how to cope with my future... without food being a crutch.

Otherwise, I will be back here again next year... still overweight - in more ways than one!

Much Love.

Good plan Paula, hope you can pull it off, if more of us could deal with our demons we wouldn't be overweight in the first place. My demons and I are in truce mode at the moment but as for dealing with them, that would take a strong woman than I am.

Paula, I am on the same path: slow and steady. And stress. Uggh. Stress, I am convinced, affects us at a cellular level. Before I experienced true stress, I thought that it merely affected our moods and thoughts and sleep patterns. Now, I think there may be some credence in the cortisol response. For me going down the rabbit hole of all that science and all those really out there remedies just doesn't fit. I have to change my diet to deal with my metabolism. I have, like you, to forgive myself and others. That is a difficult piece because it is not a one-shot deal. I have to really mean it every night when I get to the part of the Lord's prayer that says "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us". Paula, every night I can think of an instant in my day (or a hundred) where I resented, judged whatever someone. Usually a family member. I just have to keep at it, along with accepting the forgiveness given to me.

Very true Paula. We are a work in progress, always. When we take proper care of ourselves, be it in mind, body, spirit ... life is much easier to deal with. I think there is no way to avoid stress, difficulties, challenges but HOW we deal with them ... we do have power there. Have a great day ... slow and steady works!!! Take care!

I'm always amazed that losing weight has so much more to do with issues, than food. But I think that to truly be successful on this journey, we've got to tackle the issues, in one way or another. Some, we need to confront head-on, but perhaps others we can just make peace with and let God deal with on His own terms. Have a good weekend....hoping for good news for you.

You know how sometimes a little phrase will carry a big thought behind it? Well I'm going to remember your "overweight in more ways than one" - love that! Thanks!
